Some details for a possible roleplay(plus character info)
Specters - Humans who are gifted two unique abilities by a certain eccentric god upon reaching a certain age. Paired with Lanterns to hunt Nightwafes and deal with supernatural crimes.
Lanterns - Weapons given human form. Originally called "Weapon Eaters" due to their cannibalistic nature.
Nightwafes - Humanoids from another world who devour humans. Thought to be corrupted Lanterns who were cast into the other world as punishment for crimes against normal humans.
Phantomime Academy - The school which trains up-and-coming Lanterns and Specters. Also referred to as the "Phantomime Sect."
Each Lantern and Specter are given a class and a rank within the academy according to the following criteria:
Natural Power
Compatibility with others
Tactical Prowess
Specters rank are listed by number while Lanterns are ranks with a letter grade.
Lanterns can gain abilities through devouring Nightwafes or other Lanterns though the latter is considered taboo within the academy.
