OctoCamo's Diary
I write here what I please and act like someone cares.
Okay, March, okay... You've been good to me.

It started with Telltale's The Walking Dead S02E02, which was great as one would expect.
A familiar face returned to the game which is genius.

South Park: Stick of Truth was great. It's not much longer than 10 hours and it's more on the easy side, but it feels like South Park and that's always great.

Titanfall is also really good although there's space for improvement.
- I still wish it offered 1P vs COM matches with multiple options
- I wish that controller players could choose to only play with each others.
- 6 vs 6 is enough players, but this causes deaths feel too personal when seeing same person kill you with autopistol over and over.
- I wish there was a ladder system. Playing against people with a lot better equipment can be super frustrating, especially in the very beginning.
- I wish you could choose map you want to play.
Drake McWhorter (used to work at Screwattack.com) gave me a download code for digital prima guide for the game too, which is pretty cool.

Dark Souls II finally came out, though the extra week waiting I had to do due to Amazon's shipping was able to make me mildly lose interest.
Unfortunately I have couple problems with the collector's edition.
- Statues pose looks weird for dual wielding
- Swords looks cheap and unmatching to statue's quality. (Same with the base)
- The steelbook's manual holders had broken off because of disc slot behind manual.
- I hate steelbooks that has the ugly hinge showing on the spine instead of title.
- With quick glance artbook seems to have some great art, but it seems to be thrown in random order making it a step back from "Prepare to Die" artbook.
+ Statue does look gorgeous unarmed in the box though without the front plastic protector piece.
+ Cloth map is pretty neat. I'm sure the soundtrack is just as good as first games.
+ Amazon pre-orderes got random metal art print. I got Gavlan and I think it's really neat.

Brentalfloss - Flossophy album came out. Pre-ordered physical CD and Brent signed it.
Album has some of my favorite Brent songs like Super Mario Land w/ Dave Bulmer and Ballad of the Mages w/ Mega Ran and Madeline Olsen.
Also ordered from the store couple packs of Topps Nintendo cards from '89.

Breaking Bad Heisenberg figurine is really cool. I wish it didn't have clamshell case. I don't want to break the packaging so it's still in it's box...

Aaaaaaaaaaaand more art books collecting of which has been a thing for couple last months.

Gyakuten Saiban 5 Official visual book is amazing, though most of it I'm not comfortable to put here as examples due to spoilerish nature.
Here's four pages of concept art for the sidekick Athena Cykes and two pages for Prosecutor Simon Blackquill.
This is exactly the kind of art I want from artbooks. All characters has plenty of concept art, character profiles, 3D models, animation frames, etc. and plenty of miscellanious artwork.
Dragonball Complete Illustrations is mostly artwork that's been featured in the volumes or Shonen Jump.

Pacific Rim: Man, machines & monsters is huge Pacific Rim bible that has tons of information on the Jaegers, Kaijus and making of the film with tons of photos, screenshots and artwork. Also a lot of extra stuff like blueprints of each Jaeger, clippings from Guillermo del Toro's notebook, stickers, two posters, etc.

There were also couple of games that I got yesterday that didn't make it to the first group picture.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes campaign is really short. Beating it took me three hours and I was playing it super slow. One went into marking and killing every enemy on the map and the other two trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do. Though campaign is only like 7% of the game.
I would recommend waiting to see if this will be bundled with Phantom Pain or at least wait for a price drop.

Already had the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut on Steam (and original HR also on Steam as well as on 360).
It was on sale for really cheap and I wanted a "serious" Wii U game, so I got this in hopes that I would finally get around playing it.

Halo Combat Evolved was a game that I enjoyed greatly when it was released on PC. Anniversary edition was on sale for really cheap, so I figured I'd buy it just to have a legal copy of it.

And here's some stuff that I'm still waiting to arrive.
Steins;Gate Limited Edition, it's not necessarily a game that I've been dying to play, but due to the influence it had on me through the fantastic anime, Limited Edition is definitely something that I'm looking forward to adding in my collection. Especially I look forward to the Future Gadget Lab membership pins.

Something that I'm also looking forward to is a wonderful Yoji Friggin' Shinkawa's Pacific Rim poster.
It's not a big poster, only an A3, but at least that size frames are easy to find for cheap.

I watched the Thor: The Dark World couple weeks ago, which I thought was really good. Also went to cinema to watch Captain America: Winter Soldier last week which I also liked. Next month we'll get the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and later this year Guardians of the Galaxy (Rocket Raccoon thing). Damn, Marvel's doing pretty good.

I've also been trying to get into Star Trek. The pilot episode of original series bores me to death, but it's a series that can be pretty much watched in random order so I've looked up some episodes that Trekkies think are the best and some others that I just thought sounds interesting and I'm starting to like it.

And oh my God, Jirard "The Completionist" Khalil is making Completionist episode(s) on Final Fantasy VII. Whopping six of them.
And he's doing justice to the game. I'm super tempted to drop everything and replay it. Prologue, Part 1

On work front my contract was extended for at least the next month, though my managers from US already asking about my availability on one weekend in mid May so it's likely that my work will continue even further.
I talk a lot like I was dissatisfied with the situation, but it's been a great work place that I've been very lucky to have considering that I originally signed up for three month internship on a line of work that I had zero experience on.
