This is one for a girl i met recently, and she makes me feel like i can be myself again, and the feeling is incredible. Here's to you Vanessa, i hope it does you justice.
Breaking Free....
When the gleam finally came,
The parting of my iron shell,
I told myself i would be ready,
That i could be strong when i was free.
But as the lights blinded my eyes,
And your face came into view,
I realised that i was wrong,
I've never been so vulnerable.
But that's ok because this time,
I know i'm in the best of hands,
And for once i have weakness,
And find strength in it's honesty.
I couldn't explain how i feel already,
A colliding emotion of incredible strength,
Something i thought was impossible,
So i'll try and do you justice here.
Every time i think of your face,
Or imagine hearing your voice,
My breath catches in my chest,
And my heart skips a beat.
Our connection is amazing,
Nothing short of a miracle,
With perfect timing and care,
You've given me a reason to smile.
Every time i wake up i think of your face,
And even the big problems,
Seem small and easy to deal with,
Because i'll get to speak with you.
For years i've searched for what it means,
To be truly content with what i have,
But i don't have to sit and wonder,
Because now i have you <3
