How did I do that? I'm a mother of five (despite what my gaian avvie looks like) and one of the children is autistic, I'm bipolar, and 2 of my other children are special needs as well. Somehow they are the most wonderful teens alive and I am trying to figure out what

Catching up on the basics
It's been 5 months since I began this and I am only now thinking I should be more reliable in getting entries made. Unfortunately I've already taken my sleeping pills so I won't write long. But here are the basic changes since my last entires. My husband is now home from Iraq. My daughter has been offered a job with the daycare/children she's volunteered for and will be earling about $11 an hour with only about 20 hours of work in a week. They've also offered me the same job because they figured if I'd taught Becca I'd be good enough to teach their children, too. My Mookie dog is now 14 pounds, Gracie is 4 pounds. Mac is 8 pounds as of 2 weeks ago but I think she's got to be a good solid 30 pounds there (so I'm exagerating, I'm allowed to here because I make the ruels). Mac hasn't been discussed before because we got her in November. My daughter and I had visited the animal shelter near us and there had been a shih tzu puppy available but she couldn't be adopted until 4 days after her surgery (she was going to be "fixed" wink . On the day she was available my daughter and I got to the shelter about 9 a.m. They opened at 1 p.m. There was already another person there waiting for the dog so there was no way we'd get her. The next option was to find one that was for sale. We weren't too concerned about the breed, as long as it would remain small. We didn't need some purebreed dog, either. But the first dog I found that met our requirements was Mac. She's a registered shih tzu with a generation charg going back 3 generations. She's white with black markings. I've taken her to one obedience class, just last Monday, and tomorrow we'll show the teacher how great Mac is doing. And she is doing great!! My nephew told me shih tzus are known to be highly intelligent. He's right about her, at least. What I took for disobedience was simply a puppy-play with no understanding of our language. Now, in just a week, she's learned sit, down, stand, no, her name (so she comes every time we call, even if she's outside playing with another dog), and heal. That's really not too bad for just one week's efforts.

Tomorrow I'll write more and maybe even try to solicit opinions about my writing. I can't wait until I start writing about the "1-2-3 Magic" program we used. Good night and sleep well. I know I will. smile
