All right. I can now relax somewhat and ponder the events of the day.
I had a minor run in with the flaws of OS 10.3.9 today. The testers for Apple didn't hit all the possible flaws that could occur with this specific updater. For instance, the number of Java and Javascript flaws exposed this time would be good cause to pull the updater at once. While much of the improvements to Safari 1.3 are fantastic, the new bugs are enough to make me switch to Camino come the next update.
One significant issue with Safari is that if you try to open the AirPort software on a laptop while opening Safari, Safari will stall and not open. This is a regular flaw that repeats every time. The only solution is to open Safari 1.3 first, then activate the AirPort software. No big issue, but one that didn't exist before.
Other than my negative experiences with Safari, everything else works perfectly after hours of diagnostics thanks to TechTool Pro 4. Granted this seems like overkill, but I feel a full overhaul of the hard drive is in order every time the OS is updated. Nothing bad has ever happened from a proper run of TechTool Pro.
Several hours of running my key third party applications showed no flaws unlike the dreaded early days of 10.3. In a way, I'm not looking forward to what 10.4 is going to be like the first month. Oh well, it's on the way whether I want it or not.
