Your looking through a broken window At the blood pooling on the glass As your innocent ears greet the dying sounds of men on the grass
You can see the fragments of the human soul Looking down at the red liqued At the thing that once was whole
Then the pool seems to shatter Reaching out to swallow the floor You are consumed by its deadly dance By its timeless quest for the door
You move to follow the river As if its beckoning you Entransed by the velvety sheen You are helpless in what you do
As you open the door Walk out into your mind You bypass all the sparkling things Grown lusterless and dull with time
You don't stop to smell The beauty of the flowers Or marvel at the height of trees Nor do you see how high the tallest spire towers
You follow that shining red line that crosses your hazy sighte Soon running to catch up with the velvety thing's flight
It stops at the edge of your dream And soaks into the ground You stumble as, suddenly, the dying man's gasps seem to pierce your ears at a deafening sound
The innocense is gone as you feel metal touch your head You here children screaming your limbs feel like lead
You look at the creature that towers over you A weapon of death held firmly And you know what it's going to do
You shut your eyes tightly So tears will not be seen You now long for the high trees and flowers drift through your dreams
you feel your sorrows run down your cheeks then everything is gone you missed the cry of the thing above you and the mournful keening song
The creature fell and cried its device thrown away in fright I never thought it would be that easy To end one persons' life
