While I haven't had the chance to earn much gold lately, I've created a house for me and my homies. Furniture and other things will have to wait until after the battle system is announced and the weapons costs are pinned down. Since your avatars can't use the tables, chairs, beds and other static items, it seems a waste of gold at the moment.
According to Floyd, you can't keep things like your helms and hats from the fishing games on the tables or shelves. Kind of pointless. He did say that the Gambino picture and gift wrapped items can be put on the tables & shelves though. Interesting.
