Lunch time break! Woot!

It's something how saving an extra 150, 200, 300, 350, 450, as well as 650, 700, 800, and 900 gold above the amount that I started the day with that is exciting. I don't feel that way when I collect 100 or 50 gold. The feeling is anti-climax when I reach 500 and 1,000, which is a double downer, because shouldn't I be elated? No. I'm not. I'm down and usually more happy because I'm tired and not because I reached 500 or 1,000.

But, when I reach any of those listed numbers, I feel I could conquer the world. Seriously. And it's always best when I'm below 8,000. When I'm above 8,000 gold, I'm not all that excited, although I am happy. When I'm less than 8,000, I'm elated. I couldn't have any more of a rich feeling as when I'm in that range. I think it must be that stickie that I read a long time ago, where it advised that after buying a trading pass, that the newbie should save their gold until they've reached 1,000 or even higher, because then they could go on a shopping trip.

Thinking back on that time, I can feel the novelty of my gold increasing with everything I did. Words do it no justice and it is so different than how I feel now when my gold increases. The increments aside, the feeling is dull and devoid of any magic nowadays. Back then, when I started to be more involved with Gaia, it was an incredible feeling that was anything but dull and the way my gold went up felt incredibly special and fantastical, in that it was magical.

No wonder that I don't feel the same anymore. The novelty has worn off. No longer do I wonder how people can save over 10,000 gold or even have that amount to spend. I still wonder about the million amount, but that's from a personal basis. (I simply refuse to accept the fact that someone will shell out millions for an item! I wish the person all the best, but I don't see myself ever performing that feat!) However, in hindsight of my past conflicts, this clarifies how I felt previously.

And yet, reaching those little milestones, which they are because it's not a huge amount to reach unless the polls don't work and I'm only getting 2 gold from posting a bump, is like reaching the stars. Empowering. Uplifting. Exhilarating. Fantastical.

Why all those strong feelings for reaching an inbetween gold value that doesn't take much effort, although a good chunk of time, to achieve? Is it because it's universally attainable? Is it because it is a small amount, not some huge four, five, six, seven figure? Could it be that once one number is met that the others are sure to follow, because that's what numbers do? 300 follows 200 just as 400 follows 300?

Or am I that much of a simpleton? Already I've stated no desire to go after anything expensive like the Angelic Sash, either of the scarves, or the mini wings, or the Devil's Tail and a bunch of other or's that I haven't mentioned, but can be included in the list. I don't think I'd mind going after the Fairy Wings or the Muskateer outfit. Fairy Wings aren't that far out of my league and the Muskateer outfit can be broken up into articles, unlike a Devil's Tail.

And I'll have to continue this line of thought a little later. Lunch is over.
