Insane stories of a McDonald's employee
Just some stuff that's happened in the last few years I've been working. As well as other things
Into the Fallout.
Chapter 49:

It took some time to find a way out of where they were. It was very well hidden, just outside the main park itself. None of the raiders seemed to have noticed the spot and gave it little thought. It also helped that it looked like part of the environment. Trees and broken fences had been used to hide the door. Seems part of the Institute had taken over a small part of the park that went unnoticed. Sara couldn't help but look at what was left of the large amusement park. "Shame the rides don't work, I love roller-coasters." Nate nods his head at this. "Yeah, never pictured you to like those types of rides.." Sara just smiles at this. "Oh yeah, I can't tell you where it started, but oh man, they were always fun. Not a huge fan of anything that spins however..." She frowns slightly at this. "Not sure why, but it freaked me the hell out and I had to get off the ride." She shrugs a bit, unsure why it had scared her so much. Arthur just looks up at what was left of the park. "I don't see the thrill in such a thing..." She just wraps her arm around him. "Oh it was a blast, waiting for the train to get to the top, only to zoom to the ground!" Danse just rises his brow at this. "Sounds dangerous." "Sometimes, I mean I never went on the rides that looped because I saw way to many news reports on how they would get stuck. I don't remember what park it was, but people were stuck upside down for two hours...poor folks.."

Arthur was still trying to wrap his mind around the idea that deep down Sara wasn't from here. Hearing her talk about a past only Nate only understood really drove it in. While she had no clue how she got here. She was in no rush to ever find a way back. Her life, was no lie, not one thing she had told him was false. They had to march out a few miles before Arthur throws a signal grenade so they could all be picked up. Danse was just happy Nate was okay, in spite of Sara beating him up. At least he looked better thanks to Cade. She still felt bad for having to do that, but there were no hard feelings it seemed. "I do hope this will be the last time I have to punch someone...that hurt.." She shakes her hand as a few Vertibird start to make their way out to them. Arthur takes her hand and kisses it lightly. "Your quick thinking got you out, we would have never guessed to look at an old amusement park for the Institute.." Sara blushes lightly as this. "Once again, it's kind of smart, I'm just glad that this is over with...I swear.." Arthur helps her onto a nearby Vertibird. They made sure they were far away enough where the raiders wouldn't spot them and try to shot them down. Nate and Danse join as the aircraft lifts and takes them into the air. "So what kind of amusement parks did you have where you're form?" Sara lets out a low whistle at this. "Oh man, there were tons, when I was a kid, I grew up near a park known as Great America. It was mostly known for some killer roller-coasters." She had lived about twenty minutes away from the park, it was a short trip down the highway.

"Last time I went was a few years before I moved to Minnesota. Anyways, I went on this wooden coaster, we hit a bump and my glasses fell onto my lap. I was so surprised, but I had to keep my eyes closed because everything was so blurry." Nate chuckles at this a bit. "Man that had to suck, so any idea why you see better?" She could only shake her head at this. "Not a clue, I haven't been able to see this clearly in ages. Trust me I'm not complaining..." She turns to Arthur as she leans her head on him. "Last year I went to our local fair, got me some deep fried Oreo's...I think I lost a few years, but it was so worth it..." Nate tilts his head at this. "Deep..what now?" "It was a cookie, dipped in batter, then deep fried..." Danse only shakes his head at this. "Sounds like junk food." Sara just smiles at him brightly. "You're damn right it was, and it was so worth it. Does it look like I have to worry about fat?" She points to herself. "I lived off junk food since High School...I think I'm good." "You know, it is rather nice to have someone else around that knows about pre-war stuff." Sara turns to Nate. "Just with slight differences, I mean we had our technology, but we had things like smart watches and s**t. Imagine your Pip-Boy, only smaller, and you can call people on it like a phone." Nate rises his brow at this. "Really, that's crazy, did you have one?" She waves her hands on this. "Oh heavens no, those were way outside my price range...hell I hardly used the phone I had. I hated talking to people...I never really knew what to say.."

Danse was still trying to figure this whole thing out. "So things really are different where you're from?" Sara bobs her head to him. "It sounds strange I know, that's kind of why I never said anything...I didn't think anyone would believe me.." She blinks as Arthur tightens his hold on her. "I don't blame you, it does sound a bit....out there." She gives him a small smile. "I am sorry for not telling you the whole thing." He hangs his head a bit. "But I understand why, it doesn't matter either way, you're here now..." She giggles at this as he pulls her onto his lap. "That I am, why do I get the feeling you won't be letting me go soon?" "Because it seems you have read my mind..." His voice had dipped low just a touch as she feels herself blushing deeply now. "Oh my, not in front of the other soldiers." He looks up slightly as Nate just tries to look the other way, his body shaking from laughing. Danse knew better as he kept his gaze somewhere else. Sara was happy to see the Prydwen again. She still couldn't believe both her and Nate had been held captive for two weeks. She must had lost count or something, either way it didn't matter anymore. Of course, not much had changed and the minute they reach their room she was more then happy to kick back and relax for a change. She didn't have to worry about wither or not X6 was going to feed them or not. Arthur sits next to her as she lays out on their bed, she had missed sleeping here. "God those two weeks were a pain, those jerks only fed us like once a day, and it was always the same courser, staring at us the whole time."

She moves over so he could join her. He wraps his arms around her as she lays her head on his chest. "It was so nerve wreaking, poor Nate. That jerk 'Father' was trying to guilt trip him for not taking that kid with him." Arthur looks up at this. "Oh you mean that Synth they made to look like his young son.." He shivers at the idea, he was getting used to Danse, but that hit a nerve. "I'm not sure what's worse, that he was made in the first place, or they tried to sell him off as Nate's real son..." Sara shakes her head slowly. "He was programmed...which makes you wonder just what else they would had been capable of pulling. Could you imagine if they did start replacing kids with Synths...dear God. Now I really am glad the Institute is gone these people were insane!" He pulls her against him as she lets out a quiet sigh. "Sorry, I'm just happy to be out of there, who knows how long they would have hold onto us..." Arthur kisses the top of her head lightly. "I'm just glad to have you back. I think I ran myself crazy trying to figure out how to find you..." She slowly looks up at him, her hand resting on his chest. "Really?" He glances down at her, his eyes shining brightly. "Of course, hell me and Danse even went out to the Glowing sea to question that scientist Virgil to see if he had any clues. He didn't of course, but we still had to try...Danse really cares for Nate..." Sara watches his face as she giggles. "Still trying to get used to that?" "Just...like I said before don't concern me any what my people do..just...how?"

Her jaw drops just a bit as she covers her face with her other hand. "Oh my God..Arthur...you really do need to get out more. I can't keep tainting you, it's so not fair!" He seems to let it drop, maybe he was better off not knowing. "So you really don't want to go back?" She lets out a soft cough. "Like I said, there's really not much to go back to, even if I do miss snow. I don't have to shovel it anymore.." She traces her fingers over him lightly. "I just wish you could see it, the first time I got to see it snow, oh it was so beautiful.." She smiles brightly at the memory. "It was my first winter in my new apartment, I looked outside, and it was just, coming down slowly. I just stood by my window the whole time...it's cold as f*ck but it's so pretty." Arthur chuckles at this as he smiles warmly. "It does sound interesting, because of the fallout, snow can be rare..." He had never gotten to see it, but a few people have in some places. "You wouldn't be able to fly in it, I know that for sure.." She hated to know what ice would do to a ship like this. "Maybe you should be happy it doesn't get that cold, one winter it got below zero, because of the wind. I didn't even go to work that day..." He couldn't imagine anything that cold, he wondered what it was like. "Is there anything you miss?" She gives it some thought as she chuckles. "TV, sometimes I hate to say it, but I got used to background noise when I got home. Sure most of the time there was nothing good on, but it made me feel less alone..." He had read a few things on what it was like. He wasn't sure if it was necessary, but it wasn't like it wasn't he grew up with.

"That and video games, remember how I told you about Dungeon's and Dragons, that used to be huge. I got so into it, even before I met Ty and even he fell in love with it." Arthur props himself up as he watches her eyes light up. "Sure most people see it as a waste of time, but, it helped me out, get rid of all the stress I had to deal with. The stories, the music, everything about them, I played through a lot of good ones over the years..." She blushes a bit as she smiles up at him. "Told you I'm a nerd.." She chuckles softly as he takes a hold of her hand. She holds him lightly as she leans against him. His hand slowly drifts to her stomach as he kisses the side of her head. "So I take it your not angry.." He looks down at her as he shakes his head. "No, to be fair, if you had told me this, I would have had Cade look at you personally. To make sure you didn't hit your head. Still the idea of a different time line, I'm not sure I understand it all." She sits up with him, her back against the railing of the bed. "Think of it this way, ever heard of the multiverse theory?" He shakes his head at this. "The idea is that as one world exists, another one exists right along with it, just with different outcomes. Of course it's just a theory and no one can really prove it's really a thing, well until now I guess." He smirks a bit as he shakes his head at her slowly. "I guess this means there really is a world out there that didn't suffer from the fallout.." She nods at him. "Yeah, crazy right?" He leans in as he looks into her eyes. She feels herself blushing again, he was still holding her hand. "In a way, yes, but I suppose it hardly matters..."

There was a small part of him that wanted to see this world for himself. But there was no telling if that was even possible. Hell the fact she was here now was still a mystery. She had little idea herself how she woke up in this place, so it would seem that mystery would remain unsolved. "You're here now, and I don't plan to let you go..." She rises her brows at this. "Ohh, I like the sound of that promise..." She couldn't hold back a yawn however. She was so tired, it wasn't that easy to sleep in that room. Knowing Nate was there made things hard, but he had been the perfect gentleman the whole time. "Sorry...God I'm...pooped, trying to sleep in that room was not easy. We had no way to turn the lights off..." She couldn't sleep with lights on, not when they were so damn bright. He just lays down with her, hardly bothered by this as she nuzzles into his chest. "I missed having you at my side...I missed the cigar smell." He lets out a small laugh as he kisses her lightly. "Get some sleep, I'll be here when you wake up." Her eyes close quickly and within a matter of minutes, she was out cold. He runs his fingers over her cheek, he was just happy to have her at his side again. It was slowly driving him up the wall, not knowing where she was or what was being done to her. He was very thankful to learn the worst they were doing was questioning her and Nate. Though He wondered just how long that would have lasted if they hadn't tired to escape. He didn't want to think about it, she was here now, and he didn't ever want to be without her ever again.

It wasn't long before he settles in beside her and falls asleep as well. It was such a nice change to wake up feeling rested. Sara moved slowly to see that Arthur had wrapped himself around her, his head hiding in her shoulder. He really had missed her it seemed and she couldn't help but smile. Well he knew the truth now, well most of it. She still couldn't tell him this world was nothing more then a video game. She wasn't sure he would understand that, so she would just keep to what she had told him, that was good enough. He grumbles softly as she moved, his hold on her tightening, she wasn't going anywhere. However nature was calling so she gives him a light shake. "Arthur, damn it man wake up!" He jolts and blinks, his hair was all over the place as he looks up at her, a tired look to his eyes. "Hmm?" She giggles softly as she fixes his hair for him. "Morning, care to let me go, so I can go to the bathroom?" It takes him a minute or to before he slowly releases her and she stumbles over him to do her thing. He slowly sits up as he starts to wake up. He waits for her to come out as she pokes her head out. "Care to join me for a shower, I need it after all of that..." He was up in seconds, his clothes already dropping to the floor. She didn't have to say another word for him to join her as he presses her against the wall and kisses her deeply. She couldn't help but smile as she wraps her arms around him. "I'll take that as a yes.."

He just smirks as he kisses her neck lightly. "I missed you...I hope you know that..." She shivers as he runs his hands over her body. She leans her head to the side as she bats her eyes at him. "You might have to remind me a few times.." He lets out a low sound as he moves her legs around his hips and holds her against the wall. It still surprised her just how strong this man was half the time. She places her hands on his shoulders as she looks up at him. He hadn't taken his eyes off of her the entire time as she brings her hand up to his cheek. "You know, I think your the first person in...a long time who cared about what happened to me.." He was about to say something as she places a finger on his lips. "You don't need to say anything Arthur, if nothing else it was my own fault. I'm an awkward mess when it comes to talking to people half the time..." He moves his hands to her hips as he presses against her. She feels her body shiver again at the feeling. "Doesn't change how I feel...your not the only one that's been alone for years." She caresses his cheek lightly as he speaks. "I never...pictured myself finding someone. I always stayed distant, then I met you.." She tightens her hold on him as he enters her slowly. "I love you..." He kisses her as he starts to thrust into her slowly. She lets out a low moan at this as her hips rock against his. He says nothing else as he just holds onto her tightly and makes love to her for as long as he could.
