This is a major note for myself, for Baldur's Gate. Do NOT talk to Isobel. You can skip talking to her, in favor of just going to Moonrise. Here's why, the minute you talk to her, it triggers a cutscene where someone flies in to take her. Chances are you're not going to win and even if you do many others will no doubt die in the fight.
Instead, you save the Nightsong first. You can go this route because you'll run into a Drider with a moon lantern which is better then the spell Isobel uses to protect you. Going this route not only saves her, but makes the fight with the General a hell of a lot easier.
