Chapter 25:

Spending the day, doing nothing was pure bliss. It was so rare for Sara to take days off back in the real world. It was even better spending it in someones arms, even if they had finally gotten completely dressed. It was still the most relaxing thing she's been able to enjoy. Arthur didn't seem to mind the moments where it got quiet. He was in no rush to start any conversations. But when she started any he would always listen. It was still hard to tell what he was thinking half the time when she did speak. He never interrupt her though, just asked minor questions here and there. She did have a collecting of stories she was more then happy to share to get him a better idea of the work she used to do before coming here. They were laying back on his bed, her head against his chest as he just holds her close. He hadn't moved since they had placed themselves here. She didn't mind, she was rather comfortable. Lucky enough for them, no one had bothered them. His order to leave him alone, did not go ignored. It was just a little past noon now from what she could tell. It wasn't anywhere close to dinner so here they were for the moment. Every once in awhile his hands would slide up her body to pull her closer to him. She giggles softly whenever he did this, simply because she found it rather cute. She tries to shuffle a yawn, her sleeping habits had yet to change. She was still used to going to bed at almost three even four in the morning. "Tired?" She blinks at his voice. "Nah I'm fine, I don't think my poor brain will ever get used to a normal sleeping pattern.." No matter how hard she tried.

"I think that's why I did change my hours to closing shift just because how hard it got to go to bed at a normal hour..." She shakes her head a bit. "Honestly, it wasn't that bad, all we really did was lock up the store, break everything to get it cleaned, stock, you name it.." She waves her hand a bit as she lays her back on his chest. "But there was this one night, we closed early, because the weather was really bad..." She blinks as he places his hands on her stomach. "Anyways we had two doors, one to the right and one to the left. Well I had just locked the right door and went to go lock the other. Just as I turn around, I just hear this loud *thump*" She smacks her hands together. "Like something huge just hit our window, and I swear it was some giant a** bird or something. I look at the door and this large fellow just pops out of no where, and I just scream bloody murder..." It really had scared her. "So I guess my boss hears me, she comes running and there's just this large dude at our door. He's trying to get in, but I had already locked the door so I yell at him we were closed..." He shifts a bit as he holds her against him tightly. "You would think he would get the hint...no he just starts shouting his order at us, like he really expected us to go make it for him..." She shakes her head slowly. "What was worse was it wasn't just some simple order either, this dude had like a grocery list of food he wanted. And the whole time I'm yelling at him were were closed..." She takes a small pause before she continues. "So we just wait, now mind you, I was dead on my feet, been working twelve hours and I was so not in the mood to handle this s**t...."

"When he was finally done, I think I had just been nodding that whole time. I wasn't listening in the slightest. It was one of those...that's nice, go away now.." She covers her face a bit as she groans. "That didn't work and he starts yelling how rude it was to ignore a paying costumer...blah blah blah. Now again, I was dead tired, and I don't word things well, not that I do on a normal day. But my brain was saying to tell this guy to go suck a d**k, my mouth ends up saying go suck a duck..." He rises his brows at her as she giggles softly. "Yeah, my thoughts exactly..but my boss had the pleasure of catching that and she just starts dying of laughter. One for the mix up, and two, well, I'm not really breaking any rules on that one..." She moves a bit so she could look up at him. "He did leave, but not before writing us a letter some days later about it. My general manager, the head boss, she was reading his 'complaint'." She uses air quotes. "And even she starts laughing, calls me into the office and she lets me read it...I s**t you not it started with: To whom it may concern..." They both had a good laugh that day. "But he tried to play it off that he was insulted...and she looks at me, deletes the complaint, and just shakes her head, it was way to funny..." He was shaking his head at her slowly. "It wasn't long before I quit, but that was by far one of the more entertaining things to come out of my mouth. I shouldn't be allowed to 'insult' people when I'm tired." "I'm afraid to ask what else you've come up with." Even he had to admit he was having a hard time keeping a straight face. Even if he wouldn't allow his men to get away with such disrespect. But she had her right to do so, at that time.

"Just like with everything else, I got a good list of insults to throw at people. I don't take s**t anymore after awhile it gets really annoying that people think that just because I choose to be a cook, I don't deserve to be treated like crap you know?" He nods as he places his lips against her forehead. Arthur had been raised by the Brotherhood, so he knew how to show people respect at an early age. It always slightly bothered him when other people couldn't seem to understand such an idea. He didn't see her being a cook made her any less then anyone else that worked hard. It was still a job and she did it as well as she could while dealing with people that just didn't seem to understand basic behavior. His hands still for a moment as he looks down at her. "Do you still know how to cook?" She lets out a low snort at that. "I better, no one else is going to feed me. Though depending on how tired I was when I got home. It was mostly something I could warm up quickly..." That was if she had the energy for it half the time. Most of the time she would just end up on her couch and wouldn't move until she really had to. "But I doubt your mess cook would let me touch your equipment, nice fellow though..can't recall his name.." "Officer Rick Marthly....I put him on kitchen duty after I learned he was unable to fire a weapon properly after an incident he had.." She nods her head at this slowly. It was still interesting how he would give people other jobs to do even when they were no longer fit to fight. He would rather keep his people, no matter what then lose them.

"Ah, either way it wouldn't be anything fancy, I'm a simply lady who is not picky when it comes to food..." At all, she would eat just about anything at least once. "Kind of wondering what Deathclaw taste like..." Arthur just shrugs his shoulders lightly at this. "It's tough, but it's meat..." She lets out a fake gasp. "You didn't eat the one that gave you that scar did ya. Because I won't lie that be awesome.." "No...I was tempted however...but no, different run in altogether.." She lets out a low *tisk* at him. "And here I thought I had a death wish...shame.." He glares at her as she just smiles at him. "You keep doing that and your face might get stuck." He hangs his head slightly, letting out a small chuckle. He had to admit this was the strangest way he had spent his day off. He hoped he could do this more often once the Institute was dealt with. "Any other jobs I should no about?" She tilts her head at him. "Nope just that, and now here. It's actually kind of nice to work in a place where the women don't out number the men.." He gives her a odd look. "There were days where only women were working during the day, I think I touched more breast then a teen on a date night.." He stutters at that as she laughs innocently at him. "Hell I even got a handful of one of my old bosses. I turned my hand to grab something, and I just grab her, all of her. Best part is she doesn't miss a beat and just says: Well now you know how I got pregnant."

He wanted to hide his face now, but his hands were resting comfortably on her. She just giggles at him more. "Hey it was a tight space, you were bound to touch something, bump into someone, it happened a lot, you just kind of get used to it. But the fact I got a handful of boob was, priceless." Now he really was trying to hide as she just giggles more. "Aside from feeling up your old bosses..." He coughs deeply as he holds her gaze. "I'm surprised you weren't interested in something higher..." He wasn't to sure how it all worked, but from what he could make of it there was a way to work up the 'ranks' so to speak. She knits her brows a bit as she sighs. "I thought about being a manager, it would had been a higher pay check, but the work and everything else that went behind it just didn't seem worth it." Not to manage the chances of the managers getting their breaks were just as unlikely as her getting one herself. "It was bad enough I worked almost nine hours without a break, I wasn't going to shoot for twelve and kill myself for those people. Not for no damn ten caps an hour..." His eyes go wide at that. "That's...a decent pay for a cook.." "They raised it over the years, when I had first started it was only seven. But I got a raise after I became a trainer, it wasn't much but it was still above the normal pay load of everyone else." The pay wasn't a problem for her at least. It had just been the people in general.

The only habit she had was stealing toys once in awhile. Anytime they had gotten anything involving Pokemon, she stole it to add to her collection. Not that anyone really noticed, or cared. "But it wasn't that bad, I think in the six years I worked there I think I only had to bail out twice for being sick...maybe three. Trust me the first time I did that my boss was shocked because I usually never get sick. So I was sent home without question." It normally was rare she got sick. "The other time was when a coworker thought it would be okay to come in with influenza. Oh my God that was horrible, I felt like s**t for a week...." She watches him as he tries to figure out what that was. "It's the flu basically, but it hits like baseball bat to the face." He flinches a bit at that. "Still that's an impressive record, mostly anyone that gets sick on the ship is due to radiation exposure." She feels herself blush as she looks to the side. "Guess I just got lucky, or I just have one hell of a immune system, either way I'm not complaining, less sick days in my book. I mostly just sleep it off when I do get sick.." That was normally how she got over any flu she might catch, she would sleep it off and be fine a day or two later. Arthur himself could only count a number of times were he gotten ill, and it wasn't a large number. He always did what he could to keep himself in top health for his people. He always encouraged his people to do the same.

"At least you got a doctor on the ship, so you got that covered." She only knew so much, she had no interest in becoming a doctor. She wouldn't be able to handle that kind of stress on herself. "Cade is the best the Prydwen has to offer, I'm honored he had agreed to come with." She tilts her head at this. "He could had said no?" He lets out a low huff. "Of course, we do have a branch out west.." He wasn't sure who was over looking that end anymore. "Ah and your mostly just in charge of the branch out here, so they don't half to always rely on ya to make the calls. But you still have some say..since your the Elder I imagine.." He nods his head slowly, his eyes looking sad for a second. "It all falls on me, to make the right call. It's a honor I guard highly, sometime I just hope I make the right calls..." She gives him a light smile. "I think your doing fine, and no I'm not just saying that because I'm laying here. I really do mean that..." He takes a slow deep breath at this. "Thank you." Oddly enough it did sort of make him feel slightly better. He just didn't want to fail this mission, to much was riding on their success. However at least now he wasn't alone. He wasn't sure if that should make things better, or worse. He was still trying not to stress over this as it was. But he was confident to know she could handle herself. She did well for herself so far. "I trust you still have that laser riffle." She looks up at that and nods. "It's in my footlocker near my bed. I was thinking of trying to modify it so it would have a stronger kick to it...but I'm not really sure how to go about it yet since it's such a different model then everything you have on the ship.."

"Most mods we have should work, but I still have those blue prints you found.." She had almost forgotten about the prints. They had only used them once so she could understand how to repair the weapon properly. "There's a chance you might have to make something from scratch.." She didn't quiet trust herself with something like that. Again that sort of thing was different in the game since all you did was pick what you wanted and magic, you had what you needed. "I could give it a try, not that I trust myself with anything that goes boom you know?" She blinks as he pulls her up slightly as he looks into her eyes. "You should have more faith in what you are capable in doing..." She was fairly sure she was blushing deeply, he had that effect on her. "Well it's nice to know I got someone behind me..." For once, it wasn't anything she was really used to. She tilts her head up as he places his hand under her chin. She hadn't noticed he moved until now. He pulls her in, kissing her slowly. It wasn't long before it turn passionate. Having her there, was just to hard not to give her everything he felt he should. The kiss last for a few minutes before he pulls away, leaving her gasping slightly. Her whole face was a deep shade of pink. "You have any idea how unfair it is that your good at that...?" He smirks at this, it was oddly pleasing to see he could leave her breathless. Considering he had never really kissed anyone before in any manor. He still felt like a stumbling teenager, but she was hardly judging him for his inexperience.

In fact she simply seemed to be enjoying it. He was slightly aroused by her reaction. He had to shift to make sure he wasn't poking at her however. She giggles either way as she moves to the side for him. She knew the signs all to well when a guy got uncomfortable it was time to move just a tiny bit. He wasn't looking forward to letting her go. But there was a sliver of hope that it wouldn't last long. She just hoped when he found out about Danse, things wouldn't hit the fan to hard. She knew how bad it was going to be, just not how she would play a roll in that. She wasn't looking forward to it however she knew that much. This was the Brotherhood after all, they still had an 'image' to up hold. She shakes the thought away for now, the moment would come either she liked it or not. He tilts her head back to him. "Something wrong?" He didn't seem to bothered but she shakes her head. "Still trying to picture you without the beard.." He lets out a low grunt at this. "What a girl can dream, I'm sure you'll...probably look ten times younger, but gosh darn it." He just lets out another huff of air at her. He wasn't going to shave, that and he was never really sure how. He just kept it trimmed as best he could. But he wasn't going to tell her that. "Well keep dreaming..." She gives him a fake pout. "Of fine, still handsome either way in my book." He lets out a low grumble, but it seems her complement did it's job. "Again in a very rugged way, and as a lady it's sexy as all hell.." He lets out a small growl at this, now she was just trying to butter him up, and it was working. He was still trying to figure how she had that power over him.
