Chapter 9:

In such a small amount of time, Trunks, for once was enjoying himself. Not even running into his ex dampened the mood. Sitting back, eating funnel cake, with probably the most interesting person he has yet to met. She seemed so content, just sitting there, getting sugar all over her face. She didn't give a crap, though he did notice a fair amount of it was now in her long hair as well, turning the dark locks a pale white. She just shakes it all off as she shoved the rest of her treat in her face as Goten and Bulla returned.

"Okay, you gotta go in there, half of the stuff in there is broken and it's funny as all hell." Even Bulla was laughing, shaking her head. "They have a witch that's supposed to jump at you, it got half way out and the cry died half way through." They both start laughing, poking fun at just how bad the ride had been as Trunks just shakes his head. "Interested?" Sara looks up as she cleans herself off. "Think I'll pass.." Goten shrugs as he heads off to go find another ride. Bulla was smiling as she joins her brother and he just holds her close as he shared what was left of his own treat. .

They looked so happy, sitting there, Jamie felt herself about to be sick by the whole thing. Deep down, the rational part of her mind knew that it was her own fault for Trunks breaking up with her. However the other half of her, the part that had been tainted by her 'friends' thought differently. She could win him back, she just had to prove to him that his new 'interest' wasn't worth his time. Still getting close was not easy since he had long learned to distrust her. So the next best thing she could do was just wait for the girl to be alone and have a little one on one, female to female. It didn't take long as they decided to try out one of the newer rides and she shooed them off to go have fun.

Sara was still unsure, but she wasn't going to stop them from having fun. It would allow her to just sit back and relax, that was until she picked up the heavy scent of some rather cheap perfume. She turned her head just in time to catch the familiar red head from before. She had some light freckles on her face and pale green eyes. Trunks didn't go into to much detail but from what she had seen of her 'friends', she didn't need to know the whole story. She said nothing as the woman sat down and smiled. "We didn't get the chance to meet, I'm Jamie." Sara could feel her ears fold to the side. "I don't honestly care."

Jamie frowned a bit as she leaned back, trying to show off her outfit. Sara was no expert on clothes, as long as it fit she could care less how others felt about it. "Well you should, that guy you're hanging out is my boyfriend." Sara rolls her eyes. "Again, I don't care." She turns her head just slightly, her blue eyes growing dark. "You're a poor liar, even if you were telling the truth, I'm not interested in a relationship with anyone." So she had no interest in Trunks, well that worked to as she shrugged, deciding to stay just long enough for Trunks to spot her. Until then, she wasn't going anywhere.

"So what is with the outfit, Halloween isn't for another few days." Sara raised her brow, not knowing the holiday. "If you think any part of me is fake, I assure you, it's not, I'm stuck like this, probably for the foreseeable future." She runs her hand through her long hair, pushing it back. Jamie was far from impressed, but at least she didn't have to worry about fighting her to win Trunks back. The trick was to have him see, that she was the best choice. She just had to wait for the right moment. She waited for them to get off the ride they went on before speaking loudly. "Well that's a shame, Halloween is such a great time of the year, my father always gathers donations to help the less fortunate."

She honesty doubted it, but she took a slow deep breath. "That's...good, I think a good chunk of my payroll from the guild still goes out to those that need it.." Her ears flick as she tries to remember just how much that was now. "Now that I think about it, I don't even remember how much I DO get paid, not that it really matters I always seem to pick up some extra cash from traveling..so...um.."
She looks down a bit, honestly trying to figure it all out. "Ehh, lets just agree to disagree it's not something I need to worry about, but more than half of what I have is spread out..."

After awhile, she had to get up, she hadn't been home long enough to really figure it all out as she got up. "I haven't been home in over a year, so, there's a very good chance I'm way off, but in all honesty helping others should never be used to brag that you're a good person, if comes off as being a show off, I suggest you rethink your approach when you talk to people." She turned and soon walked over to Trunks who heard the whole thing as Goten just blinks. "Do you really make that much?" She holds out her hand. "Maybe, knowing my second in command and the fact he has no idea where I'm at once again, there's a chance he gave me a pay cut for making him worry once again..."

Bulla just giggles at all this as she rocks back and forth. "Wow that sucks, dad always cuts Trunks' allowance when he messes up!" "Bulla!" Sara laughs a bit. "Oreyn isn't my dad, but after mine passed, he sure took the job, so after I made him my second in command he still gets slightly over protective. I think he still feels bad for letting this happen." She points to her ears as they all head off, ignoring the fact Jamie had been left on the bench, pissed. The way things were going, her plan would never work. They seemed so close, it made her even more sick.

For the rest of the day the small group had more or less dedicated the rest of the day having fun. Trunks even got Sara to go on some rides, she found she rather enjoyed the merry-go-round despite the fact that most people on the ride were young kids. She didn't care, she loved it. When it got late they returned home after she made a return to the book store to buy the books she had been interested in and Goten was happy to return home after the day they had. Sara was reading at the dinner table as Vegeta crosses his arms. He recognised the book right away, he had caught his wife reading them when they came out.

"The one person who I thought had common sense in this house, and you're reading that junk.." She glances up, it had been hard to not to laugh through the whole idea of it. "You kidding, I bought it for the novelty, what idiot that it would think it's a good idea, to write a romance novel, about vampires, I've killed these things, they're not something to romanticize about!" Bulma lets out a low huff. "It's for fun, it's not real." "Maybe not here, but as I said, I've seen what they can do, they're very dangerous creatures..." Sara could only shake her head. Vegeta just chuckles, the girl was full of surprises.
