I just saw the movie and I can't help but understand how it relates to my life, to the lives of others. If you don't know it or haven't heard of it, How to Save A Life was a movie written about two boys who parted ways, and one eventually killed himself. If you haven't seen the movie, watch it. You will either see yourself or one you know. Look around you, how many of us just walk right by someone every day? How many of us hurt? What if you just walking past someone, ignoring that message inside of you leads to the death of another? What if, just one word or even just one hug could save them? Most of us come online just to hide from reality, for some of us it's our families, for others it's school or it's because we just don't want to see what our lives have become. And maybe it's not online, maybe it's drugs or sex, maybe it's cutting. It doesn't matter, we all hide behind our masks; faking a smile to those people who others wise just would never care. I was one of you. There wasn't a day the past few years that I never thought of killing myself. I wasn't needed, right? Nobody cared who I was or what I thought. I'd sit at the lunch table, with my head down and I never spoke a word. The people I called my friends didn't even know me. Inside I was a scared little girl screaming out, I just wanted someone to say "Are you alright?" and when I told them "Yeah" for them to tell me I was lying. I didn't care who, I just wanted someone to understand me. If it wasn't for my currant foster mom, the woman who entered into my life and showed me that people do care about me, I'd be dead right now. I wouldn't be sitting here typing this to you. I had my plans made, I knew what my note would say, and I knew I'd make it so nobody would ever find my body. I'd be rotting in some forest right now. Okay, maybe you’re sitting there thinking to yourself I'm being dramatic but think about it! Have you ever thought of suicide? Look up the statistics I triple dog dare you! Every 100 minutes a teen kills themselves (http://www.youthnoise.com/page.php?page_id=721). What are the odds you or someone you know could do it? Don't make the excuse and say you could would never do it either, that's exactly the lie I told myself. Please, I don't want to scare anyone, just please know you’re not alone! Someone out there feels exactly as you do right this minute! Chances are, they are thinking the same thing: Why not end the pain. Find that person! There's strength in numbers and we can fight this! Reach out! Let others know how you feel! Don't waste your life because you know what? Your alive for a reason! Every life matters and every life counts! Talk to your parents, friends, even a teacher from school! Heck, you can talk to me! You’re not alone and you never will be. There are billions of people on the face of the earth, and chances are, there's someone who needs you just as badly as you need them, and I don't mean that as in dating or finding your soul mate. I mean that we are all bound by relationships. The other day, my teacher was saying that there's a theory that we are connected to each other, everyone in the world, by no more than six people. I don't know if it's true, I'm not even sure if I believe it, but think about it. Do you know how awesome that is? We all are connected by a tangled web of which we weave, now stop hiding in that spider's silk. Reach out. You’re not alone, and you never will be.

"As I was walking Down life's highway Many years ago I came upon a Sign that read
Heavens Grocery Store.
When I got a Little closer The doors swung Open wide And when I came To myself I was standing Inside.
I saw a host of Angels. They were Standing everywhere One handed me a Basket And said 'My Child shop with care.'
Everything a Human needed Was in that Grocery store And what you Could not carry You could come Back for more
First I got some Patience. Love was in that Same row..
Further down was Understanding, You need that Everywhere you go.
I got a box or Two of Wisdom And Faith a bag Or two. And Charity of Course I would need some Of that too.
I couldn't miss The Holy Ghost It was all over The place.
And then some Strength And Courage to Help me run this race.
My basket was Getting full But I remembered I needed Grace,
And then I chose Salvation for Salvation was for Free I tried to get Enough of that to do For you and me.
Then I started to The counter To pay my grocery Bill, For I thought I Had everything To do the Masters Will.
As I went up the Aisle I saw Prayer and Put that in, For I knew when I Stepped outside I would run into Sin.
Peace and Joy Were plentiful, The last things On the shelf.
Song and Praise Were hanging near So I just helped Myself.
Then I said to The angel 'Now how much do I owe?'
He smiled and Said 'Just take them Everywhere you go.'
Again I asked 'Really now, How much do I Owe?' 'My child' he Said, 'God paid your bill A long long time Ago.'
This poem has Been sent to you With love and for Blessings..." -xready set EXPLODEx
Thank you, for I couldn't have said it better.
