The sun was high in the sky, yet a chilly wind continued to blow through the trees. The leaves in the forest were succumbing to the cooler weather, crumbling and falling from their branches, and covering the forest paths as Zee and Zapook walked side by side down it. Zee was happily kicking some of the leaves as she walked along, and Zapook kept herself wrapped up in an orange and black coat. Even though her body was lightly covered with hair and fur, and the sides of her face looked like that of an unshaven man's, she shivered at the slightest gust. Boem, Zapook's pet grunny, sat on her head, making a strange noise, as if he were purring.

"Even with this damn grunny sweater on, I'm freezing my a** off!" Zee growled.

"I LOVE this weather!"

"You're covered in fur..."

"True. But you seem to be gettin fuzzy too, Pookie."

"I'm not fur covered. At least not yet. And stop calling me Pookie!"

"Geeze girl, will you chill? We're almost at Barton. Lots of warm stores and buildings."

"Why are we going to Barton?"

"Pick up some costume material. Maybe you can find somethin' for you Pookie. Like...a collar?"

"I have a collar, remember? You made me get one because you and Tina had collars, and you wanted me to 'fit in more'..."

"Oh yeah...maybe we'll find a muzzle for you, then."

"I swear, when I'm back to being a wolf again, first thing I'm doing is mauling you."

Zee mumbled, "Hard to maul me if your a** is on fire..."

"What?"

"Oh nothin'. Nothin'."




Back at the house, Tina was wiping the stove down in the kitchen, with Ray helping her by sweeping the floors. That is, until Onima ran into the room with a bunch of letters.

Tina smiled, setting down her dish rag, "Good afternoon, sweetie. Mail for the house?"

"Yep." Onima nodded. "Mostly junk mail though. There is a letter here addressed to all of us. One for you, saying you could win 1 million gold, and a package for....Wolven?"

"That must be the costume I ordered for him. Who else?"

"A girl in a black dress was left tied up outside the house again. I left her in Zee's room."

"Good girl. Why have you been getting mail for us though?"

"That guy I met at camp. I told him I'm staying here...and he left so suddenly before...I was just hoping he'd pop up again...maybe call...or mail me...or something."

"I'm sure your little friend will, hun. And if not, it could be that he is busy? How is Ekone doing with his costume by the way?"

Onima sighed and looked back, "Ekone...get in here."

Ekone slithers in with a bed sheet over himself and two eye holes cut out in the sheet. Onima could only sigh and shake her head as she watched him raise his arms, making the most menacing sound he could muster.

Tina's eyes went wide and she let out a scream. Ekone being to chuckle, which quickly subsided as Tina pointed at him and yelled, "MY GOOD BEDSHEETS!"

Blinking a few times, Ekone quickly exited the room, and Omina sighed, dropping the mail on the table. "Was a weak costume anyways."

Tina sighed and hung her head.

Ray, who had been watching silently until now, picked up the letter that was addressed to the house itself. "This looks important..."

"Oh go on and open it...I care not as of right now..."

Ray shrugged, and carefully opened the letter. "...Huh. It's an invitation."

"To what?" Zee says, as she walks back into the room, "And why is Ekone in the other room, crying?"

Ray looked up at Zee, waving the letter, "What's this about dragon marriage?"

Tina stopped what she was doing and turned toward Ray, "...Dragon marriage? Sister-dear, wasn't that nice lady you introduced me to before a dragon?"

"So she's tieing the knot huh? Pfft..." Zee shrugged.

Tina stared at her for a bit, then shakes her head, "Oh yes...There was another sacrifice left in front of the house again...She is in your room."

"DINNER BELL!" Zee screams, before dropping all of the bags she was holding, and running to her room.

Zapook had an emotionless face as she watched Zee run off, then looked back toward Tina, "Is it me, or did a live meal excite her more than one of her close friends gettin' married?"

Tina could only shake her head, "I question nothing anymore. Since I am busy here, could I perhaps bother you to give Wolven that little box? He's been screaming about his costume for days now."

"Yeah yeah, sure sure." Zapook grumbled.
After searching the house up and down, Zapook found Wolven playing in the upstairs halls on his own. She set the box on the floor near him and pat him on the head, before turning and walking off. As she did, Boem jumped off of her head and watched Wolven from a distance, as he's wasted no time at all to tear the package open. After jumping into the box and rummaging around it for a bit, the box falls over onto it's side and Wolven trots out of it, dressed as Robin, boy wonder. Boem let out a loud, raspy laugh, and Wolven jumped, before arching his back and hissing at Boem. The sight of seeing Wolven on the defensive made Boem grin and charge toward the dressed up cat.

Aussa was just coming out of Tina's room with a few bandages and a wide grin, "This should work. Now all I need is one of Zee's torn shir-"

Her out loud thought was caught off by her falling to the ground and dropping all she was carrying on the floor. With a groan, she sat herself up and looked back to see what she had tripped on, only to see Boem hogged tied with a gag in this mouth laying in the middle of the floor.

"...Zapook..! Get up here...! Your grunny is being weird!"
