Tina's house was quiet, and everyone, including Aussa, had returned. Zapook never reverted back into that wolfish-human form, since she was taking the temporary antidote every week or so, and was taking up the entire couch in the lounge room, while the good doctor was in her room, working on a permanent antidote for her. Aussa had introduced Onima to a little something called Call of Duty, and the two of them had been quiet for almost four days straight now. Tina was harvesting more of her tree's fruits. Zee had walked up to the balcony on all four and cleared her throat to announce her presence.
Tina looked back and smiled, "Ah. You appear once more. Let me guess. You wish to take some of the fruits for yourself again?"
Zee only sighed and lowered her head, ears folding back, "Am I selfish?"
"...That was...Unexpected. Even for you."
"I'm serious!"
"Well...You can be, especially when food is involved. However, there are times when you think about the good of the house."
"So...I'm not selfish?"
"Not to a completely unhealthy degree, no." She smiles nervously, carring her basket of fruits over to Zee and sitting down next to her.
"Look...I was told somethin' recently. About how...well. I act weird and selfish because there is somethin' else I really want but can't have. But I don't really know what that thing is..."
Tina nodded with a smile, "That is something that you will have to search for on your own, sister-dear."
"And where the hell am I suppose to look?"
"Why...inside of yourself, of course! I suggest meditation." Tina smiled. Zee glared at her and began to speak, only for Tina to cut her off, "Oh! One more thing! It is October once more! Shall we plan for this years mayhem?"
Zee stared at Tina for a few seconds, and grinned, "OH YEAH! HALLOWEEN! Man...what is it gonna be this year....Jack stuff? Group theme?"
"I say, we get a little retro with our ideas."
"...I'm not followin'."
"You see all of these creature movies on Halloween, and yet...you see no one dressed as them due to everyone wanting to be original."
"So...you think we should...dress up as old well known creatures..?"
"Or some variation of them, yes."
"...I like it! Is Ray still here? Maybe he can get in on this as well."
"He is, though we should probably let him get on this way."
"Oh c'mon! Very rarely do we find a male that can actually stand our company. Lets take advantage of it! So...what is it you were gonna be?"
"I was thinking a dryad maybe?"
"...A Dryad is not a popular Halloween monster."
"How about a...blast, what is it called...A demon?"
"You are a demon. Come on Tina! I'm sure you're time is Hyrule can give you a better idea!"
"Um....Ganon?"
"..." Zee smacked one hand over her face and sighed.
"Oh! Wait! I know! Why not a dragon, or a lizard creature!"
Zee smiled, "There ya go! In fact, I still have that blue dragon tail from when I was dressed as Dragon."
"Then it is settled!" Tina giggled, tossing a fruit to Zee. "How about you? What will you be dressed as?"
Zee smiled, taking a bite out of the fruit, "I don't know. But I have an idea. I may need to talk to Ray for it though."
"...You want to dress as a succubus don't you?"
"Ding Ding Ding! Give this girl a cookie!" Zee laughed, taking another bite from the fruit and getting up, "Let me go find him."
Tina smiled and watched as her sister headed toward the doorway. Just as Zee was walking through, her body bloated out immensely, causing her to get stuck in the doorway. Tina chuckled a bit, "Perhaps you should have waited until you were on the ground floor to start eating that?"
"Yeeeaaah....probably....are you gonna help me or not?"
Exactly two days later, it now being the fifth of October, Zee was sitting at the kitchen table, tinkering with a few pieces of black fabric. Ray walked in, looking as though he had been up all night, and plopped into a seat next to Zee. "How is your costume coming along?"
"Hmm?" Zee blinked, looking over at him. "Oh! It's fine really. Actually, it's done."
"Oh. Then what is it you are working on here?"
"Your costume, actually. I figured we'd drag you into this as well."
"I ... I don't know. I mean...What if my family..."
"You said it'll be months before they get come lookin' for ya. Live a little."
Raymond sighed, and nodded, "Ok...So...how is the costume coming?"
"Pretty well. ...Can I ask you something?"
"What?"
"Am I selfish?"
"...Well...You can be..."
"Am I missing somethin' in my life?"
"It is...hard to explain, but I might...um...know what you are 'missing'," He says with a nervous grin.
Zee leaned in, ears perked and nodding, as if waiting for him to continue.
Ray leaned away from her a bit, before standing to his feet, "Oh look at the time! I should be cleaning the halls for Tina right now!"
As Zee watched him dart out of the room, she could only cuss to herself. Zapook then burst into the room, waving a vial in the air, "WE DID IT! We finally perfected a serum that will help keep this wolf dna under control! Now I can get back to my true form project for Yinxao! ...are you sewing?"
"Yes. I am. What of it?" Zee growls, glaring up at Zapook.
"Nothing. Just not something I see you do everyday. ...Or ever in that matter. So! Wanna watch me take this potion?"
"Zapook, What am I missin' out on? Like...what am I missing from my life?"
"..What the heck are you talking about?"
"Well...I was talking to Tina about Halloween costumes the other day and-"
"HOLY CRAP! HALLOWEEN! Do we have a group theme this year?!"
"Um...yes. Retro Halloween monsters...I called succubus."
"And I'm suppose to be a vampire?" Zapook snorts.
"Actually, that's taken."
"Oh really? By who?"
"Ray, though he don't know it yet."
"Ah. Thus the sewing. What else is called?"
"Um...Aussa's with us this year, she got zombie. Tina got lizard lady or something like that, Koopling's got mummy, and Ekone called ghost. I don't know what Onima's goin' as. Or Wolven Either for that matter. And is your friend staying for Halloween?"
"Dr. M? Probably. He's helping me with the Yinxao thing. He can be a mad scientist!"
Zee stared at Zapook with a dumbfounded look, "You're joking right?"
"...Yeah I'm sorry." Zapook grins, putting the serum away, "Well. I guess I'll be gettin' ready for halloween then."
"Wait, weren't you about to take that?"
Zapook smiled, "I was, but then I realized no one has called werewolf."
Zee stared at her in confusion for a bit, then laughed, "Ah! Clever!"
Zapook nods, and starts to walk out of the room, before stopping at the doorway, "Zee...to answer your question... You said you wanted to know what you're missing?"
"Yeah...?"
"Think about it...how you acted with Ray... the lack of attention you're getting....
What you need is to get laid Zee."
Zapook walked out, grinning.
Zee stared off for a bit, before letting her head drop to the table. "...I hate her so much..."
