TLLF: Chapter 4 Part 3


Fear and Thoughts




It was dark, with the exception of a faint glow from the few torches that circled the cell. The constant sound of water dripping off the walls and the slow breathing from the blond had Sasori struggling to keep his mind sane. They were alone. Both chained to the wall by the heavy, black links. Deidara’s face was pale, and his breath seemed to rattle with the cold. His bag of clay was gone, and his mouth-hands had been sown shut. Sasori starred at his partner, wishing he would wake up. Almost automatically, Deidara’s eyes slowly started to open. As soon has his vision focused to the darkness, his eyes widened in terror.
“ Sasori!!?” Deidara almost screamed. He hadn’t noticed Sasori siting right next to him. His heart was beating fast and his eyes darted around the dark corners of the cell.
“ Deidara. I’m right here.” Sasori reassured. Deidara head snapped to the side and he saw Sasori who was also held in chains. His eyes started to tear up and eventually fell down his cheek no matter how he tried to hold them back. A million things darted inside his head and he tried to calm him self down, but it was no use. Deidara’s started to freak out, and he struggled agents the chains that were holding his hands agents the wall. As soon as he moved his hand, there was a shock of pain that then ran down his arm. He looked up at his hand and realized that they had stitched his hand mouths together. A faint trickle of blood ran from the poorly stitched stitches that soon ran down his arm. Deidara’s faced screwed up in pain.
“ D-Danna… I’m scared.” Deidara stuttered out. He was frightened to the core, and his way of talking seemed to change. Not even the “ un” was said after his sentences. Sasori’s eyes looked at Deidara in a sad, hurt expression. How he wanted to embrace Deidara in his arms and comfort him. The sight of Deidara’s shivering, pale body brought Sasori to tears. He leaned as close as he could to his partner.
“ Deidara, we don’t have much time, but I will come back for you. I promise.” Sasori said softly. Deidara’s eyes widened more when he heard Sasori’s words.
“ What! Don’t leave me Danna!” Deidara said with scared tears running down his face. “ I don’t want to be alone down here!” he pleaded. Sasori’s tears managed to escape his eyes.
“ I don’t want to leave, but they are only granting us a little time together. I don’t want you to lose faith in me Deidara. Please believe me when I say I will get you out of here.” Sasori said while looking deep into Deidara’s scared, blue eyes. Deidara let out a sob, and he leaned in so he was nose to nose with his lover.
“ I believe you Danna, I’m just so scared.” Deidara said though his tears. At that moment, the metal doors of the cell opened, letting in five ninjas who made their way over to Sasori. Sasori looked up at them, then franticly looked over at Deidara who was tearing even more. The ninjas undid Sasori’s chains and restrained his arms behind his back. Sasori kept his eyes on Deidara and he extended his neck a little so he was close to Deidara’s trembling lips. Before he had a chance to kiss him, the ninjas pulled Sasori to his feet and walked him away from Deidara and toward the door. Sasori struggled but was held to tightly for even him to make an escape. His eyes never left Deidara’s as he was being pulled away. Deidara watched and cried as he saw his lover being pulled away from him. With one last glance before being pushed fully out the door, the redhead whispered “ I love you” to the blonde. After that, the metal door slammed shut, and all seemed darker then it was before. With out Sasori, Deidara broke down. His soft sobs echoed in the cell, making them seem loud. The air chilled him to the bone and his tears froze on his cheeks.
“ Sasori!!” Deidara screamed and sobbed at the same time. He struggled even more, but was soon rewarded the sharp, shooting pain in his hands, followed by the small trickle of blood down his arm. But Deidara didn’t care. He wanted Sasori back. “ SASORI!!” Deidara screamed louder. Sasori was being pushed down the hall and he heard Deidara’s screams, and he cringed every time he heard his name being screamed from Deidara’s lips. It made him think they were hurting Deidara. That thought only made him let more tears fall down his face. As Deidara continued to scream for Sasori, Sasori kept trying to struggle to get back to his lover. But it was not to be. The five ninjas threw Sasori into a pitch-black room. They closed the door and left Sasori on the floor with his arms tied behind his back. After a few moments of lying on the floor, Sasori started to sit up. That’s when he noticed tiny, red eyes staring back at him. There were faint, little squeaks that sound like rats. Sasori looked at the eyes and he knew what they were. Hungry, thin rats that would be a nightmare to a human who would be trapped in there for the rats intended to eat him. Sasori wasn’t afraid because he knew rats didn’t eat wood, and the rats seemed to know that too but they never kept their eye off him. Sasori struggled agents the rope that was tying his arms behind him, but he failed. The rats exchanged glances at each other, then they made their way over to Sasori. They climbed up his legs and onto his back, then they began to nibble on the rope while Sasori watched in amazement. The rats were helping him? Sasori couldn’t believe it when the rope broke and he was free. The rats then scattered and soon came back, dragging something that was being held in a wooden box. Sasori knelt down and opened it, only to have a shock of surprise. The box contained the third scroll! Sasori took it then hid it in the door of his chest along with the other two. He looked at the army of rats, then remembered the two ninjas that were guarding his door. Sasori walked to the door and busted it open. The ninjas prepared to attack, when Sasori twisted off his hand to reveal a blade that stabbed both ninjas in the chest, killing them. Sasori then picked up the bodies and threw them in the room that was holding him captive. He closed the door and the rats began to feast on the freshly killed bodies. Sasori stood there for a moment, taking in all that just happened. The rats have given him the third scroll, and he had repaid them with food. Wait! Sasori thought. If they tried to kill me with rats, then how are they planing to kill Deidara?! Sasori’s eyes widened at the thought, and he began to run down the hall searching for the cell where Deidara was being held.
