TLLF: Chapter 4 Part 4

Trapped and Caged

Deidara sat in the cell, shivering. His voice was tired from the screaming, and his eyes stung from the tears. His mouth-hands bled and he had rubbed his arms raw agents the stone wall. Even though Sasori told him not to lose hope, Deidara began to lose it. He was afraid of what they were doing to his Danna and he was also afraid of what they would do to him. Suddenly, the door of the cell slammed open. In walked three ninjas who untied Deidara and restrained his arms. Deidara cried in pain as the ninjas roughly handled his wounded hands. The ninjas didn’t seem to care about Deidara’s pain and they only treated him rougher. They made Deidara walk out of the cell and pushed him down the hallway. Deidara started to struggle when he was taken out of the cell. If Sasori were coming back, he would find the cell empty. How would he know where he was? Deidara struggled some more.
“ Let go of me! What do you do with Sasori!” Deidara yelled at the ninjas as he struggled more. The ninja to Deidara’s right responded.
“ He can’t be saved. He’s probably already fully devoured.” The ninja snickered. Deidara’s eyes widened. D-devoured? Deidara thought. That can’t be true. Sasori’s made of wood; no animal can eat pure wood. Deidara continued to struggle. The ninja that had spoke took out a kunai and held it to Deidara’s neck. Deidara stopped struggling and had his eyes on the kunai.
“ Walk.” The ninja ordered. Deidara complied. Him and the ninjas then traveled down the hall. They entered a big room, and Deidara examined it with his eyes that soon widened with fear. The room was big enough to have some type of dug in well that pretty much covered the whole floor except for the edges. A steel cage that was held up by a think chain to the ceiling dangled above the center of the deep, wide well. The ninjas pushed Deidara and lead him up the side stares and into the cage. They pushed Deidara into the cage and undid his arms. They closed the door and the cage started to descend slowly into the ice-cold water. Deidara looked at the water that he would soon be submerged into. It was frozen over with a very thin sheet of ice that would be broken as soon as the cage made contact with it. Deidara decided to take the chance and unstitch his hands. He pulled at the stitches and caused himself a lot of pain. The blood ran down his hand and it burned around the stitch holes. Once his hands were unstitched, Deidara frantically started searching for a way out. The cage kept descending and soon broke the ice and started to plunge into the water. There was no use trying to get out. His clay was gone, his hands were injured, and the cage was small enough to restrict his movements. The ninja’s left and the water was slowly rising and started to flood the base of the cage. The ice water made contact with Deidara’s feet and made Deidara shiver at the sudden chill. Where was Sasori? Did he get lost in looking for him? Deidara started to freak out as the water made its way to his shins. Despite the pain, Deidara began to claw at the bars of the cage. His feet, now numb had become stiff with the cold. Deidara realized, to his horror, that the floor was moving over the water, getting ready to close completely once the whole cage was submerged, denying him any possible way of escape should he get out of the cage when it had gone under. The water had moved up to his knees, and Deidara still hadn’t found a way out. He began to panic. As the water made its way to his chest, Deidara couldn’t even move his lower body. The cold went deep into his legs and waist, and he began to franticly call for Sasori.
“ Help! Sasori! Please help! Danna!” Deidara screamed while rattling the bars of the cage. “ Sasori!” he cried. The water was up to his shoulders and the moving floor was a foot away from the cage. Deidara continued to scream for Sasori while his hands and arms poked though the gap in-between the bars. The water was now at the base of his neck and Deidara began to cry. The chill of the water was too much to bear and he was ready to give up when the door flew open. Sasori ran thought the door and over to the spot where Deidara was sinking.
“ Deidara!” Sasori cried as he took the hand of his lover that he noticed was stiff with cold. “ Hold on! Don’t give up on me!” he cried. The water was now to Deidara’s jaw and he had to tilt his head up to be able to keep breathing. Sasori began trying to cut through the steel bars, but it was no use. The bars were too thick. Sasori began to melt the bars with the fire in his hands, but it was taking a long time. Deidara pressed his face agents the bars as far as he could go because the water was about to engulf his head. As Sasori was melting the bars with one hand, his other hand was holding that of his lover. Deidara’s ears were under water and his face was a very pale white. His neck was freezing and he found it way too hard to speak.
“ S-s-sas-ori- D-d-d-dan-na.” Deidara choked out. His heart was beating slowly, to slow due to the cold and his breathing was rough and staggered. Sasori looked at Deidara with teary eyes and made the hand that was holding Deidara’s to go warm, making Deidara’s hands hold on tighter to the heat.
“ Don’t give up on me! Please!” Sasori cried. Deidara’s other hand came though the bars and caressed Sasori’s cheek. Though his fingers were stiff with cold, he managed to stroke the redhead’s cheek tenderly.
“ D-Danna… no…m-my love…let m-me…go.” Deidara said softly. Sasori’s eyes widened and he shook his head.
“ No! I will not leave you here to die!” Sasori cried. Deidara looked up at Sasori with sad, hopeless eyes.
“ K-kiss me.” Deidara said as he stroked Sasori’s cheek again. Sasori’s eyes leaked more as he leaned down to kiss his lovers cold, white lips. He kept the flame melting the bars and was almost finished when the water got passed Deidara’s breathing hole. Deidara tried to get back up, and his hands were griping tightly to Sasori’s. Sasori’s eyes widened when he saw Deidara head go under and he pushed himself harder to melt the bars. Suddenly, Deidara’s hands stopped moving. They slid out of Sasori’s grasp and Deidara descended to the bottom of the cage. His eyes closed, the bubbles floating up from his mouth, his hair slowly flowing in the water, his skin stiff from the cold. Sasori screamed Deidara’s name as he saw him fall into the darkness of the water. With tears falling uncontrollably from his eyes, he used both of his hand-flames to melt the bars all the way. When there was a hole big enough, Sasori dived in after Deidara. The floor was still closing overhead, but Sasori was determined he was going to get Deidara out. Deidara lay on the bottom of the cage and Sasori picked him up by the waist. He then pushed his way out and managed to get out with Deidara before the floor closed over the water. Sasori laid the wet Deidara on the floor. The blonde was not breathing, his hair was draped across his face and his body was stiff. Sasori blew into Deidara and sucked out water that Deidara had swallowed. He took off Deidara’s cloak and top and threw them to the side. He then made his hands warm again and he spread the heat throughout Deidara’s chest. The redhead was panicking. Please don’t be dead! Please don’t be dead! Come on Deidara! Say something! Open your eyes! Anything! Were Sasori’s thoughts that then turned into words.
“ Please don’t be dead! Please don’t be dead! Come on Deidara! Say something! Open your eyes! Anything! Please!” Sasori cried. Deidara’s body sucked in the heat, loosening the cold, tight muscles on the inside. Sasori moved his hands all over Deidara’s body, letting the heat sink in deep. He then tried a C.P.R maneuver. Pushing the water out from Deidara’s lungs, then blowing in air. Minutes that seemed like hours later, Deidara coughed up more water and took a deep breath before coughing again. Sasori sighed in relief, and kept warming up Deidara’s body. He removed his own cloak that was dripping wet and then returned to the shivering Deidara. Deidara continued to cough, but when he was done and his breathing returned to normal, he opened his eyes and saw Sasori hovering over him. He felt a rush of warmth deep in his chest that was spreading throughout his body. Deidara looked up at his partners teary, gray eyes and moved his hand to touch the wooden cheek that he loved so much.
“ Sasori…” Deidara said in a soft voice. Sasori looked at his lover’s chilled, blue eyes. The heat from his hands sucked in the moisture from Deidara’s pants as well as his own. Making them both dry. Once Deidara was warm and dry, Sasori embraced him for a long time.
“ I was… So worried about you. I thought that, I would lose you. Deidara.” Sasori said in a hushed voice, trying to hold back the still-falling tears. Deidara stroked that back of Sasori’s head tenderly. The heat from Sasori’s hands was also made out of healing chakra, so Deidara’s hands were healed from the wounds. The blonde stroked the redhead’s hair and also rubbed the wooden back of his lover. Sasori held Deidara close, not wanting to let go. He looked into the bright, blue eyes of the blonde, then kissed the lips witch he longed to touch. They kissed for awhile. Both holding the other close while their lips moved softly agents each other. Deidara broke the kiss for air and to ask Sasori a question.
“ Danna…?” Deidara asked softly. Sasori looked at Deidara’s aqua-blue eyes.
“ Yes Deidara?” He answered. Deidara was silent for a moment before speaking.
“ Before you said, that you were being such an a** hole. What makes you think that, un?” Deidara said quietly. Sasori looked surprised for a moment before chuckling. That sounded so stupid to say now. Deidara raised an eyebrow, and Sasori made contact with him again.
“ Oh that? Its sounds so stupid now, but I thought I was being an a** hole by forcing you to wake up so early. That might have cause your extreme exhaustion when we were looking through the art galleries.” Sasori chuckled a bit. Deidara looked shocked then joined in laughing with Sasori. Deidara looked up and his smile became bigger when he saw the thing dangling from the chain that held the cage. There, tied with a black ribbon, was the forth scroll.
