TLLF: Chapter 4 Part 2
Lost and found
After awhile in that art gallery, Sasori and Deidara finally finished with no luck. Deidara looked exhausted. His hair drooped over his shoulders and his bang stuck to his skin over his eye. His shoulders were slouched and his expression was dull. Sasori looked at his partner and noticed that Deidara had lost his spring of happiness and life. Sasori had to agree. This mission proved to be boring, dull, and very time consuming. He sighed and looked over at the glass art gallery across the street. The building was small compared to the huge ones next to it and it had two windows. The windows were tainted and the place looked more like a workshop then an art gallery. Sasori turned to his partner.
“ One more and we will have a break ok?” Sasori said. Deidara looked at Sasori and tried to smile. Deidara rubbed the tired from his eyes and his spirit lightened a little. They walked across the busy streets and into the old wooden doors of the glass art gallery. Once inside, both Sasori’s and Deidara’s expressions turned to awe. There were glass statues with a verity of colors swirling on the inside. There were different shapes and creatures formed from the glass in wondrous color and shine. The place was a workshop that had its wonders circled around the place where they were made. Deidara found how they made the glass art quite fascinating. The flame engulfing the glass and melting it to the wanted form, and the way the colors melted and left a streak in the clear glass. Deidara screwed up his face in fascination as the glass artist started to bend the glass into a twisted shape. The glass breaking into different colors as it was being bent. It wasn’t like his explosions, though it was close. The uncontrollable ray of colors that sprayed across the glass made Deidara think of and explosion caught in ice. Sasori found the statues interesting. There was one of a live-sized man holding a blanket of flowing cloth around his waistline. A gold-brown color circling around the eyes giving the statue life. The rest of the statue was clear and pure. Sasori examined it from all angles, his face filled with wonder. It wasn’t the same as his puppets, but he liked how the light shined through it and splattered different colors on the floor and walls like a giant prism. As Sasori studied the glass man, he noticed something about the blanket the man was holding in front of his lower half. Unlike the rest of the statue, the blanket wasn’t flawless. Was this part of the art? Or maybe the artist made all the features, but got sued and needed to cover them up? No. It was neither of those Sasori thought. Not the first one because the fingers were also flawed like the blanket while the rest was flawless. Not the second option either cause there are not limits for art, so the artist didn’t have to cover up anything he/she didn’t want to. The flawed, flowing blanket must have had a secret. Sasori narrowed his eyes in concentration. He continuously starred at it, wondering where the secret was being kept. That’s when he saw it. A faint blotch of black hidden inside the statue. What luck! Sasori tried to keep down his smile but couldn’t help it. He had found the scroll! He was just about to call Deidara over, but decided agents it. It would be best if he didn’t attract attention to himself. So, Sasori lightly touched the blanket of the statue. He ran his fingers along the edge. He noticed a small crack that would be unnoticeable to a normal person looking at it. Sasori pulled on the edge and the glass began to open. The flawed fingers were the hinges to the glass door. He opened it slowly and couldn’t even realize his luck when he saw two scrolls! This was better then expected. Who ever placed them there would have thought that the statue would be the best and most unlikely place to store the scrolls. Sasori laughed to himself. Obviously not a good enough hiding spot for him! Sasori took the scrolls and tucked them away in his bag before gingerly closing the glass door. Sasori looked at the statue one last time, then went to meet Deidara.
Deidara was still watching the artist make the strange piece of art when Sasori tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and looked into Sasori’s dark, gray eyes.
“ Danna…?” Deidara asked.
“ Deidara, lets go.” Sasori said before leaning into Deidara’s ear. “ I’ve found it.” He whispered. Deidara’s expression lightened and he controlled him self from screeching in delight, knowing if he did they might get caught. Sasori and Deidara tried to take their time leaving the workshop so they wouldn’t appear to be rushing. Once outside, Sasori and Deidara made their way to a park. On the way, the Dango shops tempted Deidara. Their sweet aromas and lush looks had Deidara’s mouth watering. He placed his hand on his stomach as it started to demand for the Dango. Deidara blushed and tried to hide the shops behind his bang. He continued to walking, determined not to look and the shops that held his temptations. Then, Deidara looked to the side and noticed he had lost Sasori. Deidara looked around franticly for his partner, but couldn’t see him though the dense crowds.
“ Sasori??!” Deidara called franticly. Sasori did not come. The blonde started to push through the crowds looking for the redhead. Once it was clear to him that he couldn’t find Sasori this low, Deidara made his way back to the park. There, he climbed up to one of the high branches and began searching the crowds with his eyes. Surprisingly, there were many redheads in the village, witch only lead to Deidara getting more and more frustrated. “ Damn it… Where is he!?” Deidara said to him self. He kept looking. His eyes darting back and forth from redhead, to redhead. Getting more and more frightened by the second. The next thing, was very unexpected.
“ Hey.” Someone behind Deidara said, startling Deidara so he almost fell out of the tree. Deidara quickly turned around to find Sasori standing right behind him.
“ Where the hell were you, un!” Deidara yelled in a surprised and angry tone. Sasori just chuckled.
“ I didn’t know you would get that worried Deidara.” Sasori said. Deidara glared down at Sasori.
“ Of course I was worried, un! I didn’t know if the village leaders found out that two of their scrolls were missing and caught you! You scared the living s**t out of me, un!” Deidara yelled, but not too loud. Sasori’s smile faded a little.
“ I’m sorry I scared you, I just thought you might like this.” Sasori said. With that, Sasori held up a paper bag. Deidara hesitated before taking it. Once he looked inside, his face filled with joy. Sasori had bought him Dango. And a rather big bag of it too. Since they had skipped lunch because of the art galleries, Deidara had become very hungry. Deidara joyfully stuck one of the sweet dumplings with the Dango stick and popped it into his mouth. Chewing happily.
“ That’s so nice of you, un!” Deidara exclaimed after he finished one of the dumplings and licked the sugar off his flesh-colored lips. Sasori smiled and laid a hand on Deidara’s shoulder.
“ No problem. I saw how they tempted you and you were torturing yourself to keep away, so I thought I would get you some. And besides, I wanted to say I was sorry.” Sasori replied. Deidara swallowed and tilted his head to the side, looking confused.
“ For what, un?” Deidara asked. There was a short pause. Sasori’s eyes didn’t contact Deidara’s.
“ For being…such an a** hole.” Sasori said quietly. At this, Deidara almost choked on his Dango. a** hole? Deidara thought. Why in the hell does he think he’s being an a** hole? Deidara was confused.
“ What do you mean, un?! You’re not being an a** hole!” Deidara said. Sasori just shook his head. Sasori’s smile had completely faded and his red hair hung down in front of his dark, gray eyes. His hand slipped off of Deidara’s shoulder and hung down at his side. A tremendous sense of guilt flowed through Sasori’s mind and body. Deidara’s eyes widened when Sasori’s arm drooped off his shoulder. What’s with Sasori-Danna? I can’t recall anything he did that is making him so guilty. Deidara thought. He set the bag of dango on the tree branch and moved closer to Sasori. “ Danna?” Deidara said softly. Sasori’s eyes wandered to Deidara’s mouth hands. He didn’t want to say what he was thinking. Maybe he shouldn’t have told Deidara. Damn it… Sasori thought to himself. These emotions are so overwhelming. Sasori’s thoughts and feelings seemed to mix like a puzzle and he couldn’t put it back together. Deidara was becoming more and more worried and impatient. What was his Danna hiding from him? Sasori finally looked up into Deidara’s bright, blue eyes. He took in a breath and opened his mouth to say something when there was loud crash behind them. They both wiped around to find a band of ninjas in each one of the surrounding trees. Their eyes widened at the number then narrowed in anger.
“ Tell you later.” Sasori said without taking his eyes off the ninjas. Deidara glared at them and reached in his bag for the explosive clay and chewed it with his mouth hand. Sasori reached for his Kazekage scroll, but didn’t take it out. Before attacking, he thought that his might be a mistake. Why were then ninjas there? And did they know that he had the two scrolls?
“ What is your business with us?” Sasori almost growled. The ninjas in the tress stayed quiet except for one who gave the answer.
“ You have something of ours.” The ninja said holding out his hand. “ And we want it back. Now.” Sasori just glared at them. He tried to come up with a lie. He straitened his back and gave an innocent look.
“ Something of yours? Like what do you mean exactly?” Sasori said to the ninjas. Deidara looked over at Sasori with a look of astonishment across his face that was covered by his bang. The ninja paused for a moment.
“ You know exactly what we mean. Your tricks have no effect on us. Take them.” The ninja said has he motioned his hand toward Deidara and Sasori. The ninjas launched at Deidara and Sasori in multiple numbers. Deidara looked at them and threw the bomb, that then exploded. Sasori reached for his puppet and summoned it. A battle broke out. The thick smell of blood and sulfur could be detected for miles. The sun set and the glow of the city showed the thick smoke trailing across the sky. What once were thousands of ninjas, have now come down to only a few. Deidara, who isn’t good with ground moves, was becoming more tired and more vulnerable by the minute. Sasori noticed Deidara’s condition and tried to move closer to his weakening partner. One bloodthirsty ninja also noticed Deidara’s condition. Taking the advantage, the ninja disappeared and reappeared behind the panting and unsuspecting Deidara. The ninja grabbed him by the neck and tightened his grip on Deidara’s neck. Deidara’s eyes widened and he tried to struggle, but that made his condition worse. He started gasping for air, and clawing at the arm that was blocking his airflow.
“ D-Danna…!” Deidara choked out. Sasori’s eyes widened as he saw Deidara go limp and his eyes close. Deidara passed out and was being held in front of the ninja who was now snickering and loosened his grip on Deidara. Sasori’s eyes flashed in anger.
“ Get off him!” Sasori yelled at the ninja with a very dark look in his eyes. The ninja laughed and picked up Deidara and held him in his arms. Deidara’s head hung off the arm of the ninja, with his long, blonde hair dangling downward and his bang draped across his left eye. The ninja then dug his fingers into the bottom of Deidara’s neck, cutting off his breathing passage. Sasori’s eyes widened in fear.
“ No! Stop! Don’t hurt him!” Sasori pleaded. The ninja lifted of his fingers from Deidara’s neck, smirking evilly.
“ Put down your weapons.” The ninja ordered. Sasori didn’t want to fallow out, but he had no choice. He put the puppet back in the scroll and tucked it away, standing unarmed. The ninja smirked, now knowing that his enemy was at his control. “ Now, stay still.” Then ninja said as he motioned the rest of the ninjas to restrain Sasori. The ninja’s treated Sasori roughly in tying him up, but Sasori couldn’t feel how tight the rope was, he didn’t even notice. Sasori’s full attention was being held upon the sight of his limp, captured lover. The ninja ordered the others to put Sasori in a separate cell then Deidara, in to witch Sasori’s response was afraid and concerned.
“ What!? I don’t think that’s really necessary!” Sasori said. The ninja looked at Sasori with a dumfounded expression.
“ This is not your choice to decide.” He said sourly. Sasori started to panic, and he offered a deal.
“ Look. Just give me time with him. I’m only asking while he’s out and a little when he’s awake. That’s all I ask. Please.” Sasori pleaded. Then Sasori noticed something had changed about him self. Was he, begging? That was one of the many things Sasori had never done in his whole life. He mentally cursed him self for acting like such a wimp. He told him self that he wouldn’t be so soft and repeat that mistake. The ninja looked at Sasori with question in his eyes. After awhile of thought the ninja agreed.
“ Fine then, but that’s it. After that you will never see him again.” The ninja proclaimed. Sasori felt a rush of sadness and relief. He was allowed a few more moments with his lover, even if it was to be his last. Wait hold on a sec! Who said this would be his last? Surly he would come up with a plan to save himself and Deidara! This was all to negative for Sasori. Silently in his mind, Sasori began to work out a plan as him and Deidara were taken to a dark, dead building surrounded by water and black, metal spikes. The cold, bitter air swirled around the head of the passed out Deidara, chilling him to the bone. Sasori moved as close to Deidara as he could. Thankful for his closeness and the plan that was forming in his head. The two scrolls that he had stole were hidden inside of his puppet body, unknown to the ninjas who captured them, and found no trace of the scrolls. They were hidden. Sasori and Deidara needed to get away and find all five scrolls quickly, before Leader lost all hope in them.
