Novelist part:
So. Writing assignment a couple weeks ago was to write a story of one day of one's life. Well... aced that in terms of marks, but the comment the teacher wrote made me giggle. "You have the makings of a novelist"... right. Sure. I'm going to starve for a living. Hah. Nobody'd buy my stuff. I suck at it; there are much better writers out there.

Biologist part:
This is a rant against a teacher of mine.
The ignorant woman went on a bit of a tangent on how Autism can not "mirror" or empathize that which a normal human being can. Guess the freak what. I'm on the Autism spectrum. I have Asperger's. I can mirror someone quite easily. I can empathize with someone if they are being yelled at (get anxious even if I didn't do it, was her example). So I tell her, me and my brother can mirror you guys easily. You won't meet a nicer person than my brother, either, so obviously we can take into account feelings too. She told me: "I'm just telling you some new research, stop taking it so personally." Yeah. Right. You've just told me that I have no feelings and can't look at someone and copy them. You've just told me that my brother is mean, when he is not. You've just generalized, and told me that my mother's current 'client' at her daycare (Trevor) has no intelligence because he can't mirror you exactly or talk like you can. Autism is NOT the lack of empathy. Autism is NOT the lack of the ability to mirror someone else. Autism IS a different way of thinking. Autism IS paying attention to the details. Autism IS a way of life. So eff off and quit effing generalizing about my life, my brother's life, Trevor's life, and everyone else out there with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Quit telling us we're stupid because we are obviously NOT. I have A's in all my classes, my brother teaches my mom how to work Facebook, and Trevor is learning how to behave around others. Dr. Temple Grandin is an adult woman with Autism and has a PhD in Animal Sciences. WE ARE SUCCESSFUL, SO BACK OFF AND QUIT TELLING US WE HAVE UNSOLVABLE ISSUES!
