Bitterness is your downfall

Society requires us to hold our heads up
Inside, we just want to cry
To tear apart ourselves
Too easy, the world would say
A heart of stone no longer;
Both of ours are broken clay
And all the friends beside us
We drag them down as well
The bitterness within us
Makes their lives a living hell
Unable to mend the wounds
That we took when down we fell
A sea bird's crying breaks the silence
That comes soon after the swell
The ocean carries away the tears
That inside fall like rain
Someday, maybe
Someone will take away this pain
And in the end, the bitter thinking;
With our luck, it will reign
