~Life of a Pirate~
The life of a pirate can be quite meek
Out to sea for days, perhaps even weeks
Not a bath or wash, you look filthy and reek
Stuffy cabins and quarters, the ship’s sprung a leak
Haven’t eaten in days, the crews a bit weak
Your eye’s missing, you look like a freak
Polly wants a cracker, wait where’s his beak?
The sky’s clear, the water bleak
Shot each ship down, you sunk a fleet
Conquered Africa even Mozambique
Digging for treasure, it’s booty ye seek
As you can guess, being a pirate’s quite meek
Out to sea for days, perhaps even weeks
Not a bath or wash, you look filthy and reek
Stuffy cabins and quarters, the ship’s sprung a leak
Haven’t eaten in days, the crews a bit weak
Your eye’s missing, you look like a freak

The sky’s clear, the water bleak
Shot each ship down, you sunk a fleet
Conquered Africa even Mozambique
Digging for treasure, it’s booty ye seek
As you can guess, being a pirate’s quite meek
~Spring~
Like any other season, spring whispers too
A gentle sigh among the trees
Scatters leaves and dew
Her cruel showers cut right through
Winter’s dreary eves
Her tender warmth envelopes you
You miss her when she leaves
A season not as easily pleased
She changes her mind on you
A simple breeze among the trees
Spring can whisper too
~Fright~
A young mistress runs through the night
Faster than a flame ignites
Fright; a common guest in her sight
More frequent than a dove takes flight
She feels a presence out tonight
Looking to claim his writ of right
She seems as if in black and white
Running through the pale moonlight
She trips, she’s caught; this midsummer’s night
Her, the killer they now reunite
She races her mind, could it end tonight?
A killer, a fiend, a monster in right
Devoured her, she’s plain out of sight
They have sold out, it's opening night
Now they exit, off stage right
A young mistress runs through the night
Faster than a flame ignites
Fright; a common guest in her sight
More frequent than a dove takes flight
She feels a presence out tonight
Looking to claim his writ of right
She seems as if in black and white

~Poseidon’s Wake~
A ship thrashed, out at sea
Like a speck of dust, floating free
In the middle of Poseidon’s pool
His faith, his eye, his love, his jewel
Fought like two enemies, among the sea wrack
Making it out alive their plan of attack
Poseidon himself was drawn aback
For to him they were nothing, but a knickknack
The waves now calm, there’s no disagree
Like a speck of dust, floating free
The captain was but a fool
For trying to take, one’s faith, love, and jewel
A ship thrashed, out at sea
Like a speck of dust, floating free
In the middle of Poseidon’s pool
His faith, his eye, his love, his jewel
Fought like two enemies, among the sea wrack
Making it out alive their plan of attack
Poseidon himself was drawn aback
For to him they were nothing, but a knickknack
The waves now calm, there’s no disagree

For trying to take, one’s faith, love, and jewel
~Copper Twopence~
For a twopence, an old bard offered
To sing you one of two carols
One about a warlock of power
The other, a wizard of wealth
One; called Old Saint Nick
Delighted by invention and spells
Blinded by and indulging in
His newly acquired wealth
The other they call Ebenezer
Desired the power to change fate
Built a fierce army that rivaled
None till this very date
Now an aging warlord,
His blood has grown cold and thin
His brother Ole’ Saint Nicholas,
Has now drawn amends
For a twopence, an old bard offered
To sing you one of two carols
One about a warlock of power
The other, a wizard of wealth
One; called Old Saint Nick
Delighted by invention and spells
Blinded by and indulging in

His blood has grown cold and thin
His brother Ole’ Saint Nicholas,
Has now drawn amends
~Silent Night~
A silent night is a thief’s delight,
A shadowy attire; concealed from sight,
A dark clad uniform; that’s awfully tight,
An embellished blade; that cuts through light.
A highwayman’s friend; of pure midnight,
A service that is an exclusive right,
A toxic time; when sin ignites
An ambiguous gentleman, that surrounds the sight.
Darker than a crows alight,
A somber acquaintance that reinvites,
A cape that shields, a way most polite
All that is, a silent night.
