These humans have had their eyes opened to the truth of God's Salvation for their kind and fight for His triumph and glory. But some humans fight for a different cause. ~@{ CHAPTER 1 }@~
Kaitlyn jumped clumsily off her bus and stepped foot onto the large school campus. "Well, one year down, three more to go!" she muttered to herself as she took one confident step after another. Up ahead and by the entrance stood her friends, Sara and Nicole. They all had known eachother since when in the kindergarten Sunday school at their church. "Kaitlyn!" Sara cheered, "Finally some one we know!" Kaitlyn smiled, she loved Sara's constant energy. "Yeah, I was worried you were going go to Gilder Prep or something! You never really talked about that." Nicole added with a sigh of relief. "Well, I'm DEFINATELY not going to that snob school! And if I did go there, my family and I would be living in a cardboard box on the side of the road!" Kaitlyn replied to her friends worry, they laughed at her joke. "Well, shall we go in?" "Yes I think we shall!" all three girls linked arms and walked in together to their lockers, which were surprisingly very neaR to eachother. Sara had memorized her locker combo and opened it in a breeze; she started to put her many locker magnets and pictures up. Nicole whistled "Man, Sara, do you need anymore magnets?" she said as she glanced over at her friend's cluttered locker. Kaitlyn giggled, "She can at least open hers! Mine won't open!" she repeated the combination over and over, she jiggled the handle and even came to a point of just tugging on it. "Good Lord! Why won't mine open?" "Because that one's haunted..." a very gentle male voice said behind her. Kaitlyn whirled around and came face to face with a handsome boy staring right at her. He had a kind face, a masculine jawline, nicely shaped cheekbones and a finely pointed nose. His green eyes were somewhat deepset and faint circles were under them; they looked like emeralds in a dark room. His shaggy blonde hair covered most of his face and the rest was kept in a sloppy ponytail. "Just messin' with you, Ribbons." he said as a look of fear came over Kaitlyn's face. "Just needs a bit of encouragement..." he striding forward. He whacked a fist on the top and bottom of the door and it swung open with ease. "Wow, are you somesort of magician?" Kaitlyn joked. "No, I'm somesort of a Wren. Name's Wren." he replied smiling a bit. "Oh...uh...Kaitlyn name is I called Hi!" but then she froze realizing what she just said, "I-I mean, I called is name Kaitlyn! Hi! No, I mean my name is-" "I get it. You're name is Kaitlyn. But I call you Ribbons, okay?" Wren said, tugging on the blue ribbons tied into her mousy brown hair. "Oh..Okay, Wren..." "Gotta go, see ya around, Ribbons." he raised an eyebrow and strode off. Kaitlyn sighed and watched him off, "Wow, he's cute! Who is he?" she said dreamily, "Kait-Kait, you don't know who that is?! That's Wren Parkinson! The baddest kid in the school county! He's been expelled 5 times in his WHOLE lifetime!" Sara told her "And, he's been held back this year! He's supposed to be a junior!" Nicole added, "Not to mention all the immoral things he's done!" Sara quickly added to that Kaitlyn sighed, "Oh....Gee, I didn't know that..." "Well, now you do!" "Don't get involved with that that guy, Kait-Kait. Don't associate with him, don't even look at him if you have to! He's a BAD kid!" Sara said putting an arm around her friend protectively. "I want you to be safe!" Kaitlyn sighed again, "Okay, but he's still cute, though!" all the girls giggled. The bell rang and then the girls headed off to their first period classes.
