Facts about Galanor! Latest update: May 31, 2019
Galanor stays in full-blown dragon form most of the time - sleeping, bathing, normal everyday activities. Whenever she needs to be around people, though, she reverts to half-dragon state. She only uses purely human form when she needs to completely hide her draconic nature, for infiltration purposes or just not to draw attention to herself.
Galanor is somewhere around eighty years old - fairly young for a dragon! It equates to early twenties, in comparison with a human. Like most dragons, though, she's wise beyond her years.
Galanor is pansexual.
Her favorite food is elk. She only hunts around once a week.
Yes, her lair is a cave. No, it's not damp and gross. It's actually quite roomy and comfortable even for humanoids that might come to visit (or that just happen to get lost in the mountains and stumble upon it.)
Her lair is located high in a rugged mountain pass. Despite being a fire dragon, she loves the icy chill of her mountain home. (Don't worry; it's plenty warm inside the lair.)
Galanor doesn't hoard gems and gold. Her collections include mostly books, fossils, and magical objects. Compared with other dragons, her hoard is relatively small and worth intrinsically less than others of her age group.
Despite her fierce appearance, she's actually kind-hearted. (D&D terms: her alignment is neutral good.) She often allows travelers to replenish their supplies in her lair as they pass through the mountains.
She doesn't tolerate thieves. If someone that she allows to share her home and hearth steals from her, she will hunt them down and take back what is hers. (She won't kill the thief if she can help it, but she'll definitely scare them straight.)
She's also strictly against racism of any sort, whether it's between the human races or between other distinct races. She doesn't understand (particularly with humans) why a skin color somehow denotes intelligence, or in extreme cases, rights to live and be happy.
Unlike the stereotypes that follow dragons around, she doesn't eat livestock or people. (Especially sheep; they're too fuzzy. People are too bony. Besides, she kind of likes people, in a general sort of sense.)
She has a brother who owns a tavern in another part of the world; unlike her, he tends to pretend to be human most of the time.
Galanor can manipulate and produce fire from her hands and breath. She can use it as a weapon, or manipulate it into shapes for amusement or illusion.
Contrary to popular belief, Galanor's body isn't made of flame, and it isn't constantly ignited. Water won't "put her out" or do damage to her physical body. She can walk into a structure made of straw and it won't ignite around her. This is also why her clothes don't catch fire!
Ice, however, can be an effective weapon against her. If, say, a sufficiently sized icicle were to puncture her hide, the water would vaporize in her superheated bloodstream and cause massive damage. It would need to be magically hardened ice in order to pierce her scales, though.
The red diamond that she carries has a good deal of her own power stored inside it, which she can call upon if she's running low on strength.
Galanor knows the locations of portals to our (your) own world, and uses them on occasion. She has to be extra careful to conceal any of her draconic powers and traits while she's in that world, of course, to avoid being picked up by scientists and experimented on, or something.
She loves Mexican food, which she can't get in her home plane of existence. She also loves tea, but that she can get normally, and it doesn't require a special trip between worlds.
She would play video games, but she doesn't have electricity in her cave. Or an internet connection. She hears that there are games that you can play in outer space, though. Or are the games set in outer space? Something like that.
Creator facts
I'm 28 years old; soon to be 29, in August.
I'm asexual / aromantic. Sorry, guys. xD
My favorite element isn't actually fire - it's earth/life! I always planned on leaning this avi more toward greens and browns, but it seemed like all of the items I was getting were more orange-red... so that's what I wound up going for. Now, though, I really love this character!
If I come up with any more fun facts, I'll post them here. razz
