Ekone nodded as Tina finished her explaination, "Oh, I see. So you two have been through a lot. Must have been hard on you both..."
Koopa nodded slowly, "I hope they'll all be alright. They just kinda...well....scattered because of that fight..."
Tina placed a paw on her sister's head, "They're resourceful. I'm sure they'll be ok."
Ekone, trying to brighten up the mood, began packing up the cat girls' belongings and the gem into Koopa's shell pack, which was carried around by Tina up until this point. Putting the shell on his back and setting Fluffles in his hair, he cheerfully said, "So. How about we get you girls home, hmm?"
Koopa and Tina's ears perked, staring suprisedly at Ekone. Tina stepped forward, smiling as she spoke, "Are...you saying...that you are willing to escort us?"
Ekone smiled, giving Tina a cheesy thumbs up, "Not only that! But I'll be your ride!" He turned his back toward them and pat his tail. "Hop on and hang on!"
Within seconds, Koopa was clinging to his tail once more and purring loud enough for it to echo in the cave. Tina shyly sat on Ekone's tail, with her legs folded and braced herself as he slowly made his way out of the cave.
For several days, the four of them traveled back through the lands. Thier first stop was at the grounds of the tribe Koopa was temporarily in charge of. The group had already gathered together and prepared to move on, away from the village they tormented. The second stop was the town Tina had stayed in. She payed a visit to the 'coons that she had taken in and wished them luck on thier travels.
From there, Tina and Koopa rode on Ekone's tail, heading back to Tina's home, stopping late into the nights before setting out again each time dawn set in.
Worn and tired, Ekone finally came to Tina's door. Tina sighed happily as she opened the door to her place, carrying her belongings in her arm.
"Home sweet home! How I missed this place!"
The group was immediately greeted by a cheery Wolven, Aussa, and Whiplash. Zapook immediately tackled Koopa to the ground, where the two of them began to playfully wrestled. Soon, everyone had calmed down and Koopa was ready to make her way to her own home.
Ekone sighed and slowly backed out of Tina's home, "Well...I've done my job. Back to the northern mountains for me...It was nice meeting you two..."
Tina and Koopa stared at each other, then nodded in a silent agreement and Tina stepped forward, "You know, hun, you always have a home with us if you need it. We do owe you for your kindness and hospitality"
Ekone smiled, "That's nice of you, but ... I don't want to impose-"
"Dude, you're not botherin us or anythin'," Koopa interrupted. "Between our two homes, we do have extra rooms. You can stay with one of us!"
Ekone teared up, and said nothing as he quickly slithered off into the forest. Tina shouted after him as Koopa and Zapook ran after him on all four.
