Devil Monkeys are a unique breed of North American primate. Described as resembling a baboon with powerful, almost kangaroo-like legs, these creatures have been seen throughout the American Mid-West and as far North as Alaska - there is even one documented sighting which hails from downtown Chicago! Numerous eyewitnesses claim that these creatures can easily be mistaken for an escaped kangaroo at a distance.
At least one report has stated that these creatures have ?taffy? brown hair with a white patch on their underbelly. These animals are also known to be extremely aggressive and there is more than one account of them attacking individuals, not to mention moving cars. In fact, one report ? hailing from the early 1960s ? tells of a pair of nurses who where driving home from work in the Saltville region of Virginia. The women claimed to have been attacked by an unknown creature, which ripped the convertible top off their car before they could escape.
There are some researchers who have speculated that these animals may be a remnant species of an ancient family of simians known as Tarsiids or Simopithecus. Other investigators have proposed a possible link between these vicious, new world primates and the controversial DERIDDER ROADKILL photos, which appear to show the carcass of an unidentified, baboon-like creature on a Louisiana road side.
