He wasn't looking at her and his voice was impossibly soft as he spoke, but she could still hear the raw pain that resided there with glisteningly sharp claws in his gentle voice, "Sometimes, I feel like a broken mirror's reflection. I'm standing before it and I'm looking at all the different me's in the pieces of sharded glass. They're all presented to the world and each one looks the same, but they're not, no matter how much I want to pretend they are, they're not." He hugged his knees to his chest and smiled ruefully, "It's as if only I can see the jagged edges, the sharp sides so smooth yet so deadly. It's as if only I can see the miniture differences that are almost unnoticeable but can still mean so much."
