I've discovered that life here in the Valley is so monotonous. Everyone comes and goes, and everyone only studies. People go to work, do their work, come come, watch tv, and go to sleep. Nobody actually leave the recluses of their homes, and nobody as you put it "stop and smell the roses". My own mother follows this collective schedule very well. Every day she wakes up, and if it's not teaching it's classes. If it's not classes, it's her dreaded concerts. If it's not anything like that, then she's drowning herself in coffee. She says that there is actually few adults here who would make good friends. My family used to have some, but then we started losing them. Why? It's because a lot of them looked down on us for being poor, my family has this tradition that you must insult your children in order to appear humble, and they're resentful of my sister's smarts. Yes the last one would be random, but it's 100% true. She found out that all her friends were indeed just using her. I won't go into the details explaining that. I wonder if when I grow up I'll also grow up among people who distrust each other and slave the rest of my life away to repaying debts. When my friends and I talk we only share in meaningless small talk, because there is just so little going on. This place is so isolated, and I loathe my school. I want to get out. The only silver lining is that break is coming soon.
