When I found out that Kylie actually did something wrong, I thought I was going to laugh. Its hard imagining how some one so perfect could do all this. But none of that mattered right now because all that did was how fast Kylie can drive because I heard the sirens approach louder. We jumped into the car, but Lucas and Evon dove into the car head first so now I had four feet in my face. I looked back to see the cop cars make the sharp turn around the corner after us. Their sirens grew louder as we made a sharp turn into the woods. Tree braches, pine cones, and little needle like leaves fell from everywhere, cutting us up but giving us the perfect cover to escape. I got whacked with a branch in the face, and it almost hit Kylie, but I pushed her down so it missed her by a few inches. Evon flew on top of Lucas, who flew onto of Kylie who crushed me. The car hit a tree. The front of the car flew off, revealing the motor and the rest of wires and such. I stink at cars, and anything electronic except for computers. Emma was the electronic geek. She knew everything and any kind of electronic. It was a bit scary because she got along with the boys better, Zachary got along with the girls, maybe because he understood them better then boys even though he is one, and I got along with no one. But I guess now I got along with both boys and girls because of Evon, Lucas, and Kylie. We made camp in the middle of the forest. We had no spare clothes so none of us could of take a bath in the river we found about three miles away, that and it was filled with mud and bugs. We had to huddle around the small fire we were able to make out of sticks, rocks, and dried leaves. It was silent so Kylie told us the story on why she stole the Porsche. She told us how she was minding her own business when she realized that she still had a picture of us. I’m guessing she remembered the promise she made to me when we were both eleven about returning three years later. She was running because she was about to miss her plane. She passed the purple Porsche, that now lay in pieces against a tree, saw the keys in the ignition, jumped in and rode off. Of course the owner of the car called the police reporting that their car was stolen. I can’t believe it has been three years since we’ve seen each other. Lucas told the story about his family’s murder and on how he met me. Every time he mentioned my name, he would glance at me and I would smile at him. Kylie would look at me light I was the luckiest person on Earth to have Lucas. But I didn’t see how I was lucky. I mean, he was adorable, sweet, protective I know that, but he also had that sense of danger. His hair dropped over his eyes, and the way he sat made the gleam from the fire give him that look like when you hold the flashlight up under your chin and all those shadows appear. It freaked me out, but it was hysterical because Kylie took out one of those make up mirrors and showed him what he looked like. He got so scared he jumped into me and we both flew into Kylie and Evon. We all laughed. Then it was Evon’s turn to tell a story. He told us of a time his foster parents took him to the amusement park. That was where he met Kylie and they went on rides together. Then, when it was time for him to go home, he refused to go unless Kylie went with him. Zachary refused of this because we were little at the time, but he did promise them that they could see each other the following day. They did. Day after day of endless play dates. It evolved into hanging out, then dating, separating for three years, then reuniting and continuing where they left off. Kylie looked at me, the look in her eyes saying it was my turn. Well, what is there to say? I can’t tell her that our family is dead because she’ll be hurt. “ Go on Heather!” she exclaimed, “ Tell us your story.” Lucas and Evon looked at her, then at me. I didn’t know that I was crying until Lucas wiped away my tears. “ It’s best she doesn’t. Not until she’s ready.” “ Why? What’s so bad about her story? Hey, heather! Is the family ok? Can we go see them soon?” I looked at her with tear filled eyes. “ Kylie,” I began saying, “ We can’t.” “ What do you mean we can’t? Are they ok?” “ They died. While you were away.” Her smile turned to a frown and she nodded. I pulled her into a hug and we both began bawling like never before. I miss them. She misses them. We both miss them. It got colder as the fire died. We walked, all huddled together keeping warm enough to last the night. The wind whipped our legs and bit our noses. I could tell Kylie was about to pass out from walking to long. It was a long walk of silence because the wind made it hard to breathe. I couldn’t close me eyes or else I would fall. Same with Kylie. I’m glad we lost the police a while ago.. We were safe as long as we stick together. It was the only way to survive. Sticking together and helping each other out. We were able to get a room because Kylie had her own credit card. The girls got one and the boys got another. I felt a heavy burden when the owner told me that the rooms were heated and that they had hot water. I told Kylie that she could use the shower first because her skin was a light blue and her lips were purple. I had to set it on for her since she was to cold. She could barely move, but she managed just fine. I sat on the bed, wrapped in blankets and drinking hot chocolate. I haven’t had this since Zachary had made it. It was a cold, winter night and I had just got in from having a huge snowball fight with Kylie and Emma. I was drenched with snow inside and out because I lost and Kylie put huge clumps of snow down my shirt. We came in after stomping the snow off of our boots like mother had said when she called us in. Zachary was in his usual red turtle neck and baggy jeans. He came out with his homemade hot chocolate. I loved his hot coco. It was better then mom’s. But she never knew that. Mine was just how I liked it. Burning hot with little marshmallows in it. Kylie and I both liked the same so we got the same. We made everyone happy and we completed each other like peanut butter and jelly on toast. Or like a panda bear and bamboo. We were unhappy when we were apart because the only true friends we had was each other. We knew everything about each other. But tomorrow, was the day no one would forget.
