With this assessment test, were going to find out what your strengths and weaknesses are. The results may surprise some, but not surprise others. Remember there is no way to fail at this test. Everyone has their advantages and disadvantages. If your friend scores high in Mathematical-Logic intelligence, and you score low, remember it does NOT make you any less intelligent than him/her, for all people are intelligent. What makes people determine whether a person is stupid or not, is how well they score in the intelligences that the accuser favors. In other words, if I believe in order for you to be considered intelligent, you must score high in Musical, that's a very ignorant way of thinking in terms of who is or isn't intelligent. Keep an open mind. Answer each question truthfully. For the following, you're going to read each statement, and rate how closely it matches who you are right now. You'll rate each one from 1 (lowest/least like you) to 4 (highest/most like you). For example: "I like math in school." I personally hate math so I would rate that a 1. "I like science." I personally find science interesting but I don't go crazy about it so I may put a 2 for "it's ok." A statement that is a lot like you, you might rate it a 3. A statement that is exactly, or really like you, you rate a 4. At the end of each section, you're going to add up the numbers and write the total on the bottom. 1. ____ I enjoy physical activities. 2. ____ I am uncomfortable sitting still. 3. ____ I prefer to learn through doing. 4. ____ When sitting I move my legs or hands. 5. ____ I enjoy working with my hands. 6. ____ I like to pace when I'm thinking or studying. ____ Total for Bodily-Kinesthetic 1. ____ I enjoy telling stories. 2. ____ I like to write. 3. ____ I like to read. 4. ____ I express myself clearly. 5. ____ I am good at negotiating. 6. ____ I like to discuss topics that interest me. ____ Total for Verbal-Linguistic 1. ____ I use maps easily. 2. ____ I draw pictures/diagrams when explaining ideas. 3. ____ I can assemble items easily from diagrams. 4. ____ I enjoy drawing or photography. 5. ____ I do not like to read long paragraphs. 6. ____ I prefer a drawn map over written directions. ____ Total for Visual-Spatial 1. ____ I like math in school. 2. ____ I like science. 3. ____ I problem-solve well. 4. ____ I question how things work. 5. ____ I enjoy planning or designing something new. 6. ____ I am able to fix things. ____ Total for Logical-Mathematical 1. ____ I listen to music. 2. ____ I move my fingers or feet when I hear music. 3. ____ I have good rhythm. 4. ____ I like to sing along with music. 5. ____ People have said I have musical talent. 6. ____ I like to express my ideas through music. ____ Total for Musical 1. ____ I need quiet time to think. 2. ____ I think about issues before I want to talk. 3. ____ I am interested in self-improvement. 4. ____ I understand my thoughts and feelings. 5. ____ I know what I want out of life. 6. ____ I prefer to work n projects alone. ____ Total for Intrapersonal 1. ____ I like doing a project with other people. 2. ____ People come to me to help settle conflicts. 3. ____ I like to spend time with friends. 4. ____ I am good at understanding people. 5. ____ I am good at making people feel comfortable. 6. ____ I enjoy helping others. ____ Total for Interpersonal 1. ____ I enjoy nature whenever possible. 2. ____ I think about having a career involving nature. 3. ____ I enjoy studying plants, animals, or oceans. 4. ____ I avoid being indoors except when I sleep. 5. ____ As a child I played with bugs and leaves. 6. ____ When I feel stressed I want to be ut in nature. ____ Total for Naturalistic Now that you've added the points up... 20-24 = Highly Developed 14-19 = Moderately Developed Below 14 = Underdeveloped. Doing this will help you put your advantages and disadvantages in perspective. This could help you in several ways including finding your ideal career.
