(Rebellia City, New York. 1970) Darkness falls upon the world as everyone scatters to get away; not knowing that there was no escape. A war was forged that day between The Norteños, The Sureños, The Crips, and The Bloods going against The Rebels, Grim’s Troops, The Destroyers, and AFA (All for Anarchy). As the battle wedged on; a storm brewed from the north and south. Strong winds forced one person from each side into striking range while, at the same time, forcing everyone else back against a wall on either side. Now helpless to engage in battle any longer, only two (a member of The Rebels and a member of The Norteños) are able to fight. As the two warriors fought it was as if the north and south winds fought along side them. Every time one of the fighters landed a hit, the winds would roar in response. As they fought, something very unexpected happened. Both fighters were separated by the raging winds and the wind itself was torn by the collision, exposing a shimmering white light. Suddenly, the member of The Rebels took out his sword and struck the tear with his blade, causing a vicious vortex of wind that engulfed both fighters and tore them to shreds while, simultaneously splitting the sword into two equal halves and sending them across the world to two of the four corners of the world, thus ending the war; for now. This was the first war between these groups and it would not be the last. Chapter One (Rebellia City, New York. 1990) Almost twenty years after the war and the damage is still catastrophic. During the war, and for some time after, most of the people who lived in Rebellia City moved to different cities and countries around the world just to escape from the chaos. Some people even got out before the war came; as if they knew it was coming. The city has been close to a ghost town ever since. From broken buildings and empty craters in the streets to smashed sidewalks and shattered glass, the aftermath is regretfully unforgettable. Most of the damage is surely replaceable but, due to the drastic reduction of the cities population, the city doesn’t want to bother with the repairs. The rest is set as a constant reminder of what is now know as the “twins roar” and what it did that fateful day. “Man, I wonder if anyone will ever repair this city.” Someone said while walking down the shattered street. “I doubt it, what I want to know is if anyone found or claimed those swords that apparently caused all of this.” Someone else said. “Yeah didn’t you hear? Both swords were found, one in Brazil and the other in Japan. They are being held in museums as we speak. Both museum benefactors’ agreed to moves the swords; better know as the “Twin Tigers”, to a museum in Tokyo, Japan to be put up on display. Also, you know those gangs that were fighting for control of the city? Well, it seems that The Destroyers and AFA disbanded so now only The Rebels and Grim’s Troops are feuding with The Norteños, The Sureños, The Crips, and The Bloods. And on top of that, The Rebels and Grim’s Troops decided to form into one separate yet equal group.” He concluded. As the two walked down the dark street, something fell to the ground. “Huh? Hey Dave, come look at this.” “What’s up Greg? What are you holding?” “I don’t know. It looks like some sort of symbol.” “Oh hey, here’s another one.” When examined closer, the symbol Dave held appeared to be a “G” and a “T” fused together to form a “GT” shape, while the symbol that Greg held was a “T” and an “R” fused together to form a “TR” shape. “Could it be?” Dave said, mostly to himself. “What is it Dave?” Greg asked. “If I’m right, these are the symbols of those gangs that were fighting for control over the city; The Rebels and Grim’s Troops.” Dave explained. “Wow, that’s a really good guess.” Someone said from the darkness of an alleyway. “Who’s there?” Dave said, startled by the mysterious voice. “Yeah, show yourself.” Greg added. “Heh, easy, I’m not going to hurt you. Not yet anyway.” The unknown person said as he walked out of the alleyway. “Who are you? And what do you mean ‘not yet’?” Dave asked, now visibly shaking. “God what’s with you? Are you like my own personal quiz show or something? For starters my name is Damian. I’ve been watching you two from the roofs and it looks like I’ve dropped my seals. But I’m wondering how you know so much about us. Please explain.” “It’s been all over the news for the past week or two. Wait, what do you mean by us?” “Man, you’re full of questions aren’t you? Okay so you see those seals your holding right, your guess was right; and I mean ‘us’ as in I’m a member of The Rebels. Now don’t be alarmed. Like I said earlier, I’m not going to hurt you.” Damian explained. “If you think for one second that I’m going to be intimidated by the likes of you, you’re sadly mistaken!” Dave exploded with anger and fear. “We’re not going to be intimidated by some lowly gang member.” “Say’s the guy shaking like an earthquake.” Damian commented “Well you won’t be intimidated by him anyway…” Greg said as he stepped forward, breaking his silence. “And before you ask, and I know you were about to, I don’t have to fear Damian because he’s an ally of mine.” “So… So you’re one of The Rebels?” “Huh? Oh no, I’m with the Grim’s Troops.” Greg announced. “Yeah, so what are you doing with this human anyway Zolo? And what’s with that disguise?” “Well I could ask you the same thing Damian. But the reason I’m here is to find some more information on the war twenty years ago and the location of the swords, which I discovered with this humans help. As for the disguise, I’m wearing it because if I weren’t I might just kill everyone and possibly everything around me.” “So wait, what your saying is that this is just a costume and you were a member of one of those gangs this whole time; just out to gather information?” Dave questioned. “Will you ever stop asking questions?” Damian said, now annoyed. “Ignoring that comment, yes I am and yes this is just a disguise. Here, let me show you my true form.” Zolo announced. “Heheh. Hey Quiz Master, you might want to step back a little.” Damian warned Dave. “This actually could kill you if you get to close.” As Damian said that, Zolo started to glow in a faint white color and was shrouded in a thick blue and black smoke as if it were protecting him. When the smoke cleared, it revealed a tall white figure standing as still as stone. “Is that really him?” Dave asked, now astounded at what he just witnessed. “Yeah that’s him all right; Zolo, also known as, The White Reaper. Though his cloak is a different color than the typical Grim Reaper he is, in fact, a Grim Reaper. One of the best they have had in a while actually.” Damian explained. “Yet he still has a lot on his hands.” “What do you mean but that?” “Well, besides leading part of the Grim’s Troops, Zolo is a stealth agent who specializes in penetrating enemy territory and taking them out from the inside. And as you just learned, he is also a Grim Reaper. Now leading a whole unit of an army is great and all; but I think he would give it all up just to be a full time Grim Reaper. I know I would.” “Hey, don’t I have any say in the matter?” Zolo said as he walked towards Damian and Dave in an up right, fast paced, stride. “Sure, what would you do?” “Well I don’t think so. Who do you people think you are anyway? I mean really. You cause all of thins destruction and chaos, and for what; control of a city and a couple of swords!?” Dave exploded. “Um… I might be stating the obvious but; did you know you ask a lot of questions?” “Yes; yes I did. You know what else I know? I’m leaving” Dave stated as he started to walk away. “That may be a problem for you…” Zolo answered. “And why, may I ask, is that” “For one you know too much. Two, well, to tell you the truth; we just don’t like you. You ask too many questions and you’re just so annoying…” Damian added. “The world would so much of a better place if less people like you weren’t in it.” “And now I think its time for you to, what’s the word? Disappear.” When Damian said that he started to glow, just like Zolo before; only something was different. “I would say run but its no use. Your fate was sealed when you asked your first question…” Zolo added. As Damian was glowing, he pulled out a small kunai knife from his pocket and slit the palm of his hand; then he slammed it into the ground. “Ruby tears flow from lifeless eyes. The blood of a dragon may never die.” Damian cried as thunder and lighting began to flare and roar above them. Then, as Damian stood up straight, a funnel cloud touched down on top of him and a bolt of lightning struck the cloud, making it shimmer like one thousand glimmering stars. The funnel cloud then exploded into a blanket of thick red and black smoke and completely shrouded Damian. “I hold the rose’s curse and make its power mine. Arise; Dragon Rose.” Damian said as the smoke was stricken with another bolt of lightning. When the smoke was hit the second time, it dispersed, revealing something that wasn’t human. As the smoke lifted, the thunder clouds parted and the figure began to shimmer in the moonlight. The figure then twitched as if it was awakening from an incredibly long slumber and walked towards Zolo and Dave. In many ways, the figure resembled a dragon; but there was more to it. The figure stood tall and did not have wings; nor did it have a tail. It did, however, have the head, body, build, claws, and eyes of a dragon. In the center of the armors chest plate was a ruby red dragon’s eye that covered the clavicle. “Very impressive. You’ve improved the armor nicely.” Zolo announced. “Thanks.” Damian answered. “You guys are crazy! I’m out of here!” Dave said; now more frantic than ever. “I don’t think so.” Damian said as he raised his left hand. “I open the Eye of Truth. Now, I banish thee to the shadows. Catastros!” He yelled as a surge of black thunder shot from his hand; engulfing Dave’s whole body in black flames. Within seconds, Dave was no more than a pile of ash. “Now that is a cool trick. The Dragon Rose will never cease to amaze me.” Zolo said, thoroughly impressed. “Do I detect the slightest hint of sarcasm?” Damian questioned. “No really. It’s great; in fact, why don’t you come up with more tricks that get old after three uses. It’s like you’re not even trying to unlock its full potential.” “Oh; really? Okay fine, here’s something new, just for you Zolo.” Damian said as he raised his right hand to a clearing in the ruined city. “This is one way to clear the wreckage. Now, I activate The Gauntlet of The Elementals.” The gauntlet then started to glow a dark eerie blood red color and a huge circle was formed, hovering over the clearing. “Now, by the Gods, I shall Destroy! Oblivion!” Then, as if it were touched by the wrath of Gods, the clearing became a battle—scared wasteland. “…” “Speechless huh? Thought so.” “…I’m not speechless…” “Oh? Then what do you have to say?” “…Holy crap!! *clears throat* I mean; very impressive.” “*evil laughter* Yeah, I thought so.”
