Dueling Simplified

Okay, so for those of you who are just a little confused, before you go and post your questions I'll try and be a bit more clear here. Once I have a certain amount of entrants, I will send each pair their Prompt, WC and deadline. There will only be two pairs with the same Prompts in order make it easier for me to read and judge fairly. You will be PMed these prompts and must have them in by the deadline. Depending on how many entrants I get, there might not be any repeating prompts in a single round.

In order to move on to the next round, you must fulfill the prompt completely, meet the word count give or take a handful of words, and it must hold up under a grammatical/spelling pursuance.

At the very least you will have 3 days from the time you receive the prompt to the deadline. Times will vary depending on prompts. Prompts will always be words or phrases, even orders or requests. You must fulfill them to move onto the next round.

Once you and your opponent have submitted your piece for that round, I will push whoever wins into the next round. Once there, you may have to wait a little on a new opponent depending on how long their prompt was and when they started, plus however long it will take me to judge.

When everyone who can reaches the final...3 rounds, you will all be given the option of using a Second. Seconds are not mandatory and are completely optional. If you chose to use a Second, you will split the prize with them accordingly.

Well, that's all I can think of. If you have questions, post them in the thread and I'll be glad to answer. ^_^

Seconds Simplified

Alright, just a little bit more clarification before you get more confused. I'm not entirely sure if I've explained the roles of Seconds very well, so here we go.

In a traditional duel, a Second had three roles: First and foremost, he was to attempt to end the duel with as little bloodshed as possible, which usually meant offering the chance for the offender to apologize to whomever he had offended. His second role was to stand in for the offended persons if he could not make it to the appointed time or area. Thirdly, a Second was to observe, if he was not the one fighting of course, and make sure it was a fair fight. Really, none of this works for the contest so I've added my own little twist.

In this contest, Seconds will have one simple role: Collaboration. In the final rounds, when use of a Second is open to all finalist, and the finalist in question chooses to use a Second, the two must collaborate and work together to fulfill the prompt. The only example I can think of is a one x one Role Play, in which you simply wait for the other person to post. However, instead of waiting for your would-be-partner to reply to whatever you've written, you work with them to fully fulfill the prompt.

Once again, feel free to voice any questions you might have.
