The physical pain passed quickly. Two pinpricks in the neck, that is all it felt like. But it was far worse.

A vampire, who looked to be in his late twenties, came at me with blinding speed. I did not even have enough time to think before everything went black. Floating in a pool of darkness. I saw a shimmering man, my love, Alexander. He opened his mouth but no words came out. I reached towards him, my hand passed through, his form shook and blew up, letting streams of glitter fly out.

I felt fire flare up through my whole body. Everywhere where it was felt like cement, I couldn’t move. It started dulling. First, in my feet, then it moved into my legs. Every place it dulled the burning got worse in my throat. It started dulling faster, my torso, hands, and arms. By now it was in unbearable pain. My eyes flew open. I was staring at a gray stormy sky.

I was thinking about standing up by moving my arms to lift up my body. But, I was already standing. I felt the burn in my throat; my hands flew up to it. I couldn’t breathe. I had to get something to sooth it. I smelled something sweet, mouthwatering…irresistible. My vision blurred. My mind went blank, only to focus on getting to that sweet sent.

I saw a girl and a boy holding hands, sleeping, basking in as much sun that was accessible at the time. I could smell them from here…mouthwatering. I ran towards the boy. He could hear me and opened his eyes in the exact second I bit into him. The warm liquid felt soothing and I could breathe. After I was done with him, the burning flared back up. It wasn’t as bad as before, but I needed more…my attention whipped over to the now running girl. I tackled her, her head hit the ground, and I heard a bone-crunching crack. We rolled into a small pond; I felt a smile came over my face as I bit into her. The blood satisfying the burn. I quickly looked around for someone else.


I caught a glimpse a face in the reflection of the water, I looked back at it. Short blonde hair, gray t-shirt, jeans, pale as a ghost, she would have looked good as a vampire. At the same time she kind of looked like me, except for…her eyes…crimson red. The face in the water was wearing a mask of complete horror. It quickly changed to confused. Wait that can’t be me, can it? I felt my mouth open; the face opened its mouth too. I gasped, closing my mouth, so did the girl, but no sound came out of hers. It is me….isn’t it? I made the reflection open her mouth again. Two tiny little white fangs hung out of her mouth, barely even noticeable. It is…I slammed my fist into the water, causing the girls face to ripple and disappear. I stood up and ran.
