Backfire Pt-8: Cats outta the Bag
Zapook was sniffing around the house, growling in frustration due to everyone once again avoiding her. The only one who acknowledged her was Zee...
...and that was only to kick Zapook down a flight of stairs.
Thing was, Zee was right. Zapook hadn't really lost herself in her new form. She was only taking advantage of her new form to finally get the respect she felt she deserved.
The only thing her acts got her was a but kicking from Zee.
Even with her new form, she still goes back to her lab, nosing around in her files and doing everything she could in that form to complete her projects, which including restoring herself, turning Yinxao back to a human form, and even finding out what exactly Raymond was.
She was about to get her answer to one of those.
While making her way to the kitchen, she passed by a darkened guest room. A low mumbling from withing the darkness of the room caused her to peek her head in. Raymond's back was toward the door, sitting with his legs crossed, his eyes closed.
Her ears twitched, listening in on his mumbling.
"No no...I did exactly as you said...

Yes, I did find one..

How is...Oh yes. Well....She's marvelous...Absolutely marvelous, but she doesn't seem to be affected by what I've done.

Raymond stood to his feet, sighing heavily, and slowly turned around toward the open door. Zapook was already gone...
...and scratching at Tina's door. Tina opened her door, saw Zapook and immediately tried to close it again. Zapook stuck her paw into the door, letting out a loud yelp.
"G-GO AWAY! Please!"
Her eyes locked with Zapook's before she sighed, opening her door. "I have mace hidden in my room. If you make one hostile advance toward me, I will use it."
Raymond walked about the house, shirtless, with his hands in his pockets. As he walked out the front door of the home, there was a girl left in front of the house, her hands and feet tied together. She seemed to be in the late teens, and was only wearing a long blue gown. Onima skipped out, stopping next to Raymond and blinking down at the girl.
"Um...Is she ok?"
Raymond sighed, "It seems as though that town is now bringing gifts. I may have been a little..rough with the whole, worship and be spared act..."
"Oh." Onima walked back into the house, calling out, "Hey guys! There's a virgin sacrifice on the front step!"
Zee yelled from down the hall, "What about virgins?"
Onima rolled her eyes and yelled, "Free food by the front door!", before turning and running down a different hall.
Zee ran out to the front door immediately, smiling and slowing down as she saw Raymond, "Oh...Hey! Not cleaning anymore?"
He smiled, "Not ignoring my existance anymore?"
"Well...No. It's not your fault I felt so guilty. I should learn more self control."
"I'm not really helping though."
"Oh, pssh. Not your fault that I forgot about...about...Umm..."
Tina growled as she walked out the front door. "Chazu, hun. Chazu."
Zee nods, "Yeah...Him. ...When did you get here Tina?"
Tina sighs, "We need to talk." She glares pass Zee, staring at Raymond, "All of us."
Zee, Tina, and Ray were sitting around the kitchen in an awkward silence. Raymond was sadly looking down at his cup of water. Zee...was too busy looking at him.
Tina could only watch them both. "...Since you two seem preoccupied, I will begin. Dear Raymond. While you have been very helpful to our house, I can't help but feels as though you have been keeping secrets from us."
Raymond looked up at Tina, nearly knocking over his glass? "Pardon?"
"I was informed by Zapook on your little chat with yourself."
Zee growled, "Oh don't listen to her, Ray Ray. Mutt-Butt can't even talk."
Tina grew angry, standing up and slamming her hands on the table, "Not only can she speak, but I was told that "Ray Ray" was speaking with someone. Just so you know Zee, Zapook is unable to speak normally, but was able to force words out to me!"
Zee rolled her eyes, ignoring Tina.
Tina glared back at Raymond, "I have heard a crude summary of what you have been planning. What is this, order, you have been following?"
Raymond sighed. "I'm suposed to find a girl. To bring home.
...for my ritual."
"Ritual?"
"Has to do with me being a prince."
"...You are a prince?"
"Of my land, yes."
"And this land is..."
"Deep beneath the ground we walk in an underground city filled with others like me."
"...and these...moves?"
"A charm that was meant for you from the start, but for some reason, you weren't affected. Yet your sister was..." Raymond said as he glanced over at Zee.
Tina stared, "...Wow. Well. Aren't you a fountain of information. I did not think it was be this easy...who were you tal-"
"Mother."
"...Excuse me?"
"My mother. I was talking to my mother."
"...Your mother is forcing you to charm an innocent girl and drag her home?"
"You think that's bad? If I don't do this right, my mom will come here with a legion of her finest men, drag me off to sit in solitary confinement for the next year, and let her men have their way with all the girls in this house before devouring your bodies and souls."
Zee snapped out of her gaze and just looked at him,mouth wide open.
Tina was staring at Ray with a horrified look on her face.
Ray looked back and forth, "...Should...I leave?"
