This is one I've actually started working on:
In the late twenty-second century the arts are dead. Song and music have been turned into a series of electrical stimulants sent to the different parts of the brain. Art as in painting is an archaic ability that few ‘artist’ use, but historians study. Artists have centered around using computers and pixels. Acting is something children do to amuse themselves when their parents won’t let play on their electronics. The only actors who make movies are 3D computer images.
Most know physical activities have also been replaced of more popular versions of the sport. Football has changed so much that professional football is deadly, and soccer is outlawed. No one recognized Basketball anymore, but Baseball is still around. Every baseball player however has at least one false body part. There is even one man who as been playing for fifty years; all of his internal organs are cybernetic. As for war, forget it. Only poor countries still use real soldiers, everyone else has robots to fight for them.
Horse back riding is one of the few sports that hasn’t changed drastically in the past one hundred and fifty years. The Wild herds have begun to make a come back throughout Asia, Africa, North America and South America. The sport is still for the rich or professionals, but as a total it hasn’t changed. It has a Professional and Owner level, which in upper competition intermingle. The highest ranked, and youngest professional of current is one Alexandra Lillyan.
After the death of her parents, Lexi as she is called by all, used her inheritance and her family connections to attend a high class school where she rounded out her riding ability. Her skill by the age of fourteen was so great that she was hired to act as the Goldsmitts show-rider. By the time she was sixteen she had been awarded her professional license. She was not however the number one rider in the world. In fact she has not even been placed in the top twenty. Things are looking up though. If she continues to do well in the ‘hired-rider’ events, the Goldsmitts will hire her as a trainer within their private estate.
All her dreams go up in smoke when she's nearly raped, but saved by mysterious white spirit and swept away to untouched valley.
