This is one I've been thinking about since I read Naomi Novik's Temeraire series.
I don't know what timeline I'm going to write this story during, but Here's the basic out line. Tell me what you think! whee sweatdrop xp
Khurshid and her twin sister Mahshid are as different as day in night in personality only. Khurshid is bright, out going, she loves strategy and fight, and thinks womanly things are pointless. Mahshid is gentle, sweet, she loves dancing and music, and would follow her sister to the end of the earth. Both girls are middle daughters of the Persian Emperor. They have watched from their father's harem gardens as Dragon Knights flew over. Mahshid loves how graceful they appear, and Khurshid loves how they work as a team to defeat all enemies.
Khurshid is the one who comes up with the idea to go into the dragon temples and steal two dragon eggs, so they can become dragon knights to their father rather than just being married off. Mahshid thinking only of getting to dance in the air with the dragons agrees. Khurshid and Mahshid snick into the temples and take two eggs, the only two they could carry away. For two years they kept the beautiful pearl colored eggs hidden, until they hatch. Kurshid's dragon is a heavy weight the color of sand with gold highlights and deep purple ridges, while Mahshid's Heavy weight dragon is the white of snow, with silvery detail and dark green ridges.
Two dragons the size of large dogs are not easy things to keep hidden. soon the two sixteen year olds are forced in front of their father with their beloved dragons. The emperor is left with no choice but to exile his daughters, for any woman that rides a dragon is not welcome in his lands. Khurshid and Mahshid's mother does what she can for the girls and manages to talk the Emperor and his council into waiting until the girls can travel. She manages to get them to wait for another two years, until the dragons are full grown, and the girls can wait no longer.
They travel for another two years; through Egypt, Africa, East and south asia, even going as far as India. More and more out casts join them, until their traveling partners consist of twenty dragons, and over four hundred people.
Eventually the Dragon riders decide to go north, to aid in a great war, where our true story begins.

Ruroni's Ideas for stories, input welcome
I like to write down the basic Ideas for my stories, unfortunately my stories aren't always the best. So I'm always welcoming input from you guys about my ideas and maybe even suggestions for improvements.
