I am at a point of indecisiveness.
Real life stories, based in High School or the world of stressful work, has that lovely balance of drama, and able to sympathise with the protagonist and jeer at the antagonist of the story, groaning at your own memories at the popular b***h/b*****d, or the boss that had those few extra centimetres above and loomed over you menacingly. Yesh, gaining sympathy or connection between your characters and the readers is in an important factor when writing a novel.
HOWEVER, a Fantasy story, filled with all sorts of strange and magical things (like Lycanthropes, or shapeshifters, or perhaps dragons and the dark disturbing realm of demon intermingling with the humans...) has so many possibilities that ooooh~ It makes me tingly just thinking about the vast horizon of trees, where you can pick a plot apple from the branches and drown in the idea soup of goodness.
...
Okay, weird analogy, I know, but the fact remains:
Fantasy...or Real Life?
