I stared out my bedroom window at the moving truck pulling into the parking space next door. Most of the townhouses on my street only had two parking spaces in which to park. They were all connected, five at a time. When I saw him I almost thought he was someone else. The only Noir I'd ever seen was the one at that stupid party. He wore dark blue jeans with lots of buckles and straps and chains hanging from them. His chocolate brown hair hung toward the right side of his face. And--get ready for this--a Fall Out Boy T-shirt! He also wore a bright red wristband that had a strange symbol on it and an open jackt that I couldn't tell what was on the front. I ran down the stairs in full excitement. He had texted me the whole way and I had gotten dressed. I pulled my hair into a ponytail and slipped on my blue and brown plaid Airwalks. I ran out and hugged him.
"Hey." He smiled widely.
"You're finally here! I've been waiting all day! Wanna hang out?" I asked. His mother apparently had heard because he looked over to her pleadingly. She nodded.
"Do you have your cell phone?" She asked him, seeming concerned.
"Yea." He answered. She smiled and he waved goodbye to her as we walked away. I automatically made my way to Rena's house. She was always up to hang out. I hadn't called her so she probably wasn't expecting me today. I wouldn't be a big surprise though. Noir would be though. I rang the door bell expectantly. She answered the door.
"Hey, Tana!" She greeted. She noticed Noir and gave him a look. "Who's he?"
"My friend. He lives next door to me." I knew Rena didn't approve of me and cute guys within eyeshot. But, she was supportive in my quest for a boyfriend. She leaned in closer to me.
"Can I talk to you in private?" She asked. I told Noir to stay on the porch and followed her inside. "Is he your boyfriend?"
"No." I could feel the warmth rising in my cheeks.
"Okay. But he should be." She smiled. I knew then she was on my side. We went back outside after she bundled up to find Noir on Rena's porch swing. I beckoned him over.
"Where we going?" He asked.
"For a walk." I told him simply. He nodded.
"But to where?" He questioned.
"To either the library or the nearby supermarket. Maybe even to the McDonald's close by to there." I'm glad we'd gotten an early start because it was going to get dark at around 5. Either way I was set in going over there. I managed to keep a conversation going where both Rena and Noir could talk happily. We got to the library and went upstairs where Rena and I took our favorite corner secluded by bookcases. There were always three chairs in that corner. I liked being there with Rena on weekdays after school. Now, we had Noir, who took up that last chair. I'm not sure how long we were there whispering and laughing and looking at the people walk by and stare at us thinking Teenagers..... But we went to the McDonald's I had no money, Rena did and so did Noir. I normally had to pay for me and Rena's stuff whenever we came to McDonald's or went to the local supermarket. It's was nice not to pay for once. We all got eggnog shakes, even thought it was November. I had called my dad and asked him to give us a ride home once it dark, though I didn't want to leave.
