Not even the fact that Marble castle was in fact one HUGE green marble helped. He was too distracted with his disappointment to listen to anything that was said on the audience he, the witches and the hunters had with King Strobodelio. He barely noticed he was taken out of there and into a little inn,
Marimo kept looking at his nails while his disappointment became anger until a piece of conversation forced his attention to change the subject. It was Kanami speaking.
-...and still, Marimo needs an army. And the king here has no idea how useful it would be to have his.
-But - Mikana replied - he'd have to listen to the whole story and if that happens Marimo here would already be frozen on dark crystal or something like that.
-We could go to the mercenaries too... - she said, then her face lit up - Or we could pledge our alliance to him. THE ARMY OF CUTE SERVING MARIMO! - She was visibly excited.
-Marvelous idea, co-ruler! - yelled Mikana - as all of your ideas! now, we... pledge our alliance. Done deal. Marimo, your cause is not lost!
Marimo's face was so obviously surprised Elito actually spoke with more than monosyllabics for the first time since he met Marimo:
-He hasn't been paying attention at all, look how clueless he is.
-I am sure he's just processing all this, though- said Nileno kindly.
-Yeah, I am - lied Marimo. I need to... hear it all over again, yeah.
-But not here, silly! - said Mikana winking and smiling. You don't want to get caught and frozen, do you?
