Few know this, but once, Morgona Lefay loved. She loved a warrior who loved her back. With all her heart, she did love him, but she was not allowed to marry. There was too much risk.
He was to marry someone, and he wished it her, no matter the consequences. So, he came to her door with a silver rose and a promise of his heart and life.
Then, Morgona Lefay did something unheard of, something she was never known to have done. She wept.
The tears fell, and she muttered two words that filled every question, "If only..."
He left. Not an hour later, She rushed to his room. There was something wrong.
She ran in to see his own dagger in his chest, and the silver rose in his hand toward her. As she walked in he mouthed what she had always known. "I love you."
Life left his eyes. She rushed to him and knelt over him, crying once more.

A few weeks later, Morgona Lefay knew she was pregnant. It was his child, she knew it. Again, for the last known time, she cried. These tears were not because she was unsure of what to do, but because she knew what had to be done.
She stayed hidden for 7 long months, hidden among friends. After this, she took the child, her daughter, to a near village with Morgona's Amulet and the sheathed dagger.

16 years later, when that daughter, Sophia, fell in love, that day, the silver rose appeared on her pillow.
