Orpheus , the musician.
Orpheus was the musician on Jason's famous voyage. After the voyage, he married a woman named Eurydice. some guests got drunk, including a man named Aristaeus. He tried to rape Eurydice while Orpheus was tending to the other guests. Eurydice fled into the garden and was bitten by a snake and died. Eventually, he remembered the myth of Persephone. He traveled to the underworld, he sang a song so beautiful that god, goddess, the shades of the dead and even the Erinyes paused from there tourture of the evil. Persephone told Orpheus that if he walked oput of the underworld and did not look back and remained silent, his wife would follow him and be brought back to life. Orpheus agreed and caught a glimpse of his Wife's shade. During the journy, He walked a lone and in silence. He began to suspect that Persephone was playing a trick on him. A few steps away from the entrance, he looked back. Eurydice had been following him. but because he looked back, she was swept away by the wing of death. He could not go back to death's kingdom because Charon the ferryman would not let him pass.
