“Stereotypes and Labels”
I may not be who I think I am
But a stereotype is just a word
Used too often
By people of this generation
And all generations
Past, present and future
I don’t believe in labels
But if feels nice to be accepted
In one group at least
Though I hang out with people
In many groups
From emos, to Goths, to Hispanics, to gays and lesbians
But none of that matters to me
It’s true friendship that counts
What about you?
But a stereotype is just a word
Used too often
By people of this generation
And all generations
Past, present and future
I don’t believe in labels
But if feels nice to be accepted
In one group at least
Though I hang out with people
In many groups
From emos, to Goths, to Hispanics, to gays and lesbians
But none of that matters to me
It’s true friendship that counts
What about you?
