Hawk's World of Wonder! No, I don't sell MODchips...

These are the EB days of my video game life...

Yesterday started me off as my first day back at EB and sweet Gord, was it ever a rough one. I got there a little before 7:00 AM (Yes, I was shocked to learn there's a 7:00 in the morning too) and we took a little tour of the store just Mary, the other part-timer, Vinny, and myself. We had to wait around for the Roadway truck to arrive at about 7:45 AM where we then proceeded to to unload eight pallets of fixtures for the store and then put them up on the slat wall. There's was damn near everything you could think of on the truck and somehow, we managed to get all of the shelving onto the walls after we emptied the truck and broke open the boxes before Matt arrived at 11:00 AM.

Once he got there, he did his supervisor thing while Vinny and I did all of the grunt work. It was what I expected and I got alot of cuts and bruises from all of the heavy lifting and whatnot, but I said nothing since I need the job so much. Eventually though, Matt did order two pizzas for the four of us to eat, so I enjoyed getting the free meal out of it all.

After lunch came and went, Vinny and I finished setting up the rest of the four gondolas and then I started in on setting up the televisions and the three interactives for PS2, XBOX and Gamecube. It was easy enough, but keeping it all straight and neat was certainly a little bit of a task. However, I got them all set-up and they looked awesome what with only being able to see the TVs and the controllers. I felt quite accomplished.

Then Matt had me try to set-up the computers for the registers...Hoboy, that was a fun time and a half. I got register one set-up almost entirely aside from the modem, thanks to the lack of instructions given to me by the company. How amy I supposed to know how to set-up POS systems when I haven't been here in two years and these are newer systems than what I'm use to? Sweet Gord, what a time...

Luckily, Chuck helped me finish setting them up today and we got them connected to the home office's database correctly. He and several other managers came in today and helped empty the actual product from the truck we received today and they were getting it all set0up on the shelves. Matt actually didn't need me for most of the day so, I ended up leaving somewhere around 11:00 AM after being there at 7:00 AM again today, so I went to the mall to buy a football shirt for EB to wear for Madden's release on August 9th. I also ended up snagging some other shirts from EB while I was there and I bought a copy of Phantom Brave to amuse myself with while at the house.

On the way home, I finally got a chance to stop by Clearlake Pines, the apartment complex right down the street from EB. Unfortunately, they don't allow pets in the complex, so that kin of shot that idea out of the water. Tomorrow, I'm going to try and grab one of those apartment guides for Brevard County so that I can try and find someplace that does accept pets so that Monica's kitty and mine can live with us.

That reminds me of the good news...

Monica has agreed to come live with me in Florida for a year before we move out to LA.

heart

I am a VERY happy man right now, to say the least.
