I was sick of Applenut by the fourth day. I had explored all the hallways and I had met all the guests. There was Drake and Candy, and of course, Allen, but there was also, Fred Gale, who was a teacher in Delaware, Adria Danielle (That's her middle name, i never found out her last name..) who was a retired super model in her twenties ( I resently found out that she had actually been fired for abusing her staff!) and really quite snobbish, Buddy Ballen, a super nice old man who's wife had died a month ago, so Mrs. Dot had Agreed to let him live there as long as he paid rent, which was easy because he's super rich, and me and my mom, who had to share a bed in a small room with strange pictures of black roses and dying trees. If you don't think that's creepy, then I tell you what is, the way that Mrs. Dot and Mr. Green, the Gardener, always looked at each other, solomn (not sure how that's spelled all you readers) and grave, as if discussing secret matters through each other's minds. I thought that it was just plain creepy, so i tried not to be in the rom when the two where together...I'm mean, what if it was their was of showing affection? I certainly did not want to be around when they started talking! I never can put together in my head why the thing I'm about to tell you about happened...it might have been fate or destiney... I'm not sure, but I do know that this was meant to happen. I'm as sure of that as anyone is sure that if their leg is hurting, there's probably something wrong with it. Anyway, heres what happened. Aria D., as I nicknamed her, Buddy, and Fred were in the library with me, and each was doing something differant. Buddy was reading Gone With the Wind because he said he liked the way it was told. ( I suspect it made him deel younger, being written in the "old days" as I call them.) Adria D. was looking in a magazine and giving the models on the front cover ugly looks. Fred was reading something about space, one of those boring science fiction novels. I was looking at them all, obsreving them as I like to do, when, out of no where, the bookshelf behind Adria D. crashed to the floor, almost squishing Adria, if Fred hadn't pulled her out of the way just in time. " Oh! Fred, you've saved my life!" she said, looking at Fred in a new way. I just about barfed were I was, and then Fred looked at Adria and said " Adria, I told you last time, I don't like your attitude. We are just friends." but i could tell that he didn't mean it. Adria quicly got up, for she had been in Fred's arms the whole time, and then she stormed out of the room to complain to Mrs. Dot. I looked at Fred in wonder, and he answered the question that had been on the tip my toung. " Adria and I were once good friends and we would have been married but then she...retired, and became all moody, so I broke up with her. She hasn't gotten over it, and I'm sorry to say, neither have I, but don't tell her, because she'll follow me until I give in!" Then Fred walked out of the room to relive old memories, and I began to observe more now. If Fred and Adria knew each other, what were the odds that some of the other guests knew each other? and thus my detective work began.
