You were there when I left,
The lovable old black gelding....
Black Jack was your name....
But when I got back,
What I found was horrible.
My riding horse,
You foundered a few times,
But always kept your head up.
You were locked up in the corral,
You busted your way out....
She knew what you trying to tell her....
You wanted to leave the pain,
You lived a long good life.....
In horse years you were nearly 110.
I wish I got to say good bye....
But I was gone far far away.
The vet gave you a shot,
You went into a deep sleep,
Never to wake again.
You were burried on the banks of the Animas.
Many blessings did you have.
One moment you're there,
The other you're gone.
I just wish that I could have said good bye.

The Lies She Wrote
Lost within the deep confines of her mind, the girl wrote about her life as best she could. Despite the fact that over half of what she wrote was a total and complete lie. [no, that doesn't apply to me...]
