the following is a rant that contains language not safe for children:

mayqueene was right. i can not believe the amount of bitching going on in the forums about the new cash shop!

for starters it's like they didn't even READ the announcement. they just saw the words cash shop and freaked out. secondly, the children playing in the forums obviously haven't been taught simple economics yet because they're insisting that this will cause inflation. not likely.

they b***h that the kaya cat is unfair because it costs $25. no it doesn't. you bought $25 worth of gaia cash and received a free gift for doing so. and the more cash cards that sell the cheaper kaya cat becomes. people were charging millions when they first came out and other people yelled no fair. i said wait - the price WILL come down and fast. it did. they are now well under 100k in the market, and dropping.

they're bitching that because you can buy a monthly sealed envelope in the shop that all the items in there will take the place of the mc's, rendering the mc's worthless. it won't. the announcement said clearly that it will feature an assortment of items that were either to complex for mc's or too simple to be mc's. the fact that you can buy the envelopes there will be a convenience only. we already can buy mc's with gaia cash and the other items won't change monthly as i understand it.

still another complaint is the 'i live in bora bora and there's no target or rite aid here plus i don't have a credit card'. yeah? do you have a post office there? get a money order and mail it in. that's what i had to do initially if i wanted gaia cash or an mc. again if i read correctly, the cash items can be sold on the marketplace, traded, quested for, etc. just like everything else here. think of it like the prize and joy shop only with cash instead of tickets.

they're also complaining about the prices. i thought the announcement said a lot of the items will cost less than the $2.50 mc, like a quarter or fifty cents. yet i saw some moron who was insisting they'd cost a LOT more. like $10 dollars for an item. yikes. (go re-read the announcement you idiot.)

if you really think hard about it, it's a good thing. the extra money will pay for more servers, admins and developers. that means less lagginess, more items, and maybe...dare i say it....more glitches fixed faster. i think all of that is good...

i did see a few positive threads about it, and made sure i commented and bumped them up to show support. i still think the new stuff coming looks fantastic and i can't wait to see it. for now i think i'm just going to avoid the forums...
somedays i swear i can feel my IQ drop several points just reading some of the posts in there......
