So two weeks ago tomorrow, I decided to make another attempt at quitting smoking. The first time I quit was when my sweetie was diagnosed with cancer. I quit cold turkey and didn't really have any withdrawal symptoms - and I stayed that way right up till he died. Then I fell off the wagon...
I tried quitting again last year, but this time the withdrawal was too much for me. I tried using nicorette lozenges, but they were disgusting and didn't help. Quite frankly I thought the smokes tasted better. And that attempt failed.
This time I'm using nicotine patches and so far, so good! I'm not having any cravings or withdrawal, and mood wise I think I've been damn civilized. It's been 2 weeks since I had a smoke so I'm hoping this time it'll stick. When I'm done with the patches, I'm planning on saving the money I would have spent on smokes and getting myself a new tattoo. smile
