CHAPTER 3
The bus pulled up to my stop and Cindi grabbed my hand and followed me off of the bus. From my stop, it's only a block to get to my house. I didn't feel like taking the shortcut through the alley either. So we walked in silence.
We made it to my house. When I opened the door, my dog, Murphy, ran up to me jumping and licking my hands as I scratched his head. He usually barks like crazy at strangers but not Cindi.
As I tried to figure out why, I showed her around the house. Only a few things were unususal to her. Like microwaves and...ice cubes. I turned to ask her something and I noticed why Murphy refused to bark at her. She was beautiful!
This is the first really good look I got at her. She had a mix of long light and dark brown hair and light brown eyes. Her skin was soft and seemed to glow for no reason. She was angelic. In a sense, she was! Her dress was simple, yet still looked like it cost a lot. It brought out more of her...features that made me like her even more.
We travelled up the stairs to the second floor. In the small hall there were two doors. One the right wall and on the left wall. On the back wall was a computer. Cindi ran and sat down at the chair in front of it.
"This is a computer, isn't it?" she asked.
"Right!" I confirmed. She played with it a bit then yawned. I opened my bedroom door and she slowly entered. She walked around, looking at all my stuff and yawned again. "You can go to sleep if you want!" I said offering my bed.
"Oh, that sounds nice! I am a little tired!" she replied with a nod. She crawled in and fell asleep shortly. I wasn't tired at all myself, so I made something to eat and saved some for her later. I returned to my room and she was wrapped in the blanket comfortably.
I sat down on the smaller bed I have in my room and looked for something quiet to do. After a few minutes, I found myself next to my bed, watching Cindi sleep. "This is too weird!" I thought. "This must be a dream! Yeah! I'll wake up soon! I'll have to this whole day over again normally!" I said to myself.
Then I noticed I wasn't dreaming and came to terms with it. She woke up an hour or two later. I let her try some pizza.
"Mmm! It's good!" she commented eating more. She ate about 4 peices and was now thirsty as anyone would be. I gave her some water. She was relieved to see something she was familiar with.
We sat on my bed and talked some more. "So tell me Cindi, what's your home like?" I asked.
"Well, I lived in an empire. Right now there's the emperor, his wife, and his 2 children." said. "We, along with the other royalty, live in the palace. It's almost a city in itself!" she explained.
I had to stop her right then. She lost me again. "You live in the royal palace?!" I asked getting up.
She replied with a giggle, "Uh-huh!" Then she began to explain, "I'm an orphan. The empress found me in the city as a baby. When no one claimed me, she took me in and I was raised in the palace!" she told me.
She also told me of the other royalty in the palace. There was the High Priest and his wife, the Head of War, his wife, and 3 daughters. The consequences for anyone who tries to endanger them are dire. I wasn't worried since hurting her was nowhere in my mind.
"Wow! You've told me so much about your home! I guess I should tell you a little about Earth!" I said scratching my head.
She looked at me with a smile and answered, "Oh! You won't need to do that! I already know enough about Earth!"
What does she mean by that?
