It was the middle of summer...
The weather was beginning to really heat up.
And a certain little yellow chicken was too bored to stay in one place.
Fluffles strutted around the house, looking for something to do. Tina had been too busy taking care of her tree with the change of weather to do anything with. Wolven was off following Koopling around, who hasn't been the same since the arrival of their house guest. Koopa had spent a lot of time out and about around the forests, and whiplash was about as much fun to play with as a pet rock. As for their house guest, Fluffles saw him wander into Zapook's room quiet a few times, chatting with her, but didn't show enough interest in him to see what the two were really doing. So she fluttered up to the nearest open window, and decided to do a bit of explorin for herself. Tina was now taking care of the shrubbery around the house, whistling happily as Fluffles dashed past her.
As she happily wandered around the forests, a small sound lured her toward the river. That's when she saw Koopa, standing on all fours and lapping at the river's water. Fluffles shook her head and continued to follow the sound she had be tracking. As she turned away, a larger figured loomed over Koopa. Noticing she had a spectator, Koopa quickly turned, only to catch a glimpse of the creature's tail. Where this sight would scare off anyone else, Koopa merely smiled and trotted after it like a playful kitten.
Meanwhile, Fluffles headed further up the river and found herself circling a large tree. That's when a small drop of water lands on the large feather on her head. Shaking it off and staring up towards the canopy, Fluffles saw a familiar snake like tail, and jumped up to bite the tip of it.
She was immediately grabbed and set on the shoulder of Ekone. The small chick immediately learned that those sounds were the sounds of Ekone crying, though he seemed happy to have her as company.
"I remember you, little one. Nice to see that you are well."
Fluffles peeped happily and wrapped her little wings around his neck in an attempt to hug him.
Back at Tina's place, Wolven was napping next to what he thought was Koopling, only to find himself hugging Whiplash's silk black pillow. After searching around the house for Koopling, he ended up sitting in front of Zapook's door, where he heard her screeches, and two sinister laughs.
