I can't sleep... Gwyd may just yell at me for staying up so late on a school night! But at least I'm back on gaia again! Huzzah! And now, an update.
I have friends, can you believe it? Yeah, I do. Some of which are really getting under my skin, but you need to understand the circumstances involved.
Awhile back a friend of mine, well call her Dawn, broke up with her boyfriend because he was aparently moving out of town. Well, this spurred my other friend, we shall call him Cid, to decide he wanted to go out with Dawn, whom he had liked for about a year now but never acted on his feelings for the main reason of Dawn having a boyfriend. Cid is like a brother to me, so obviously I became a main route of communication betwen the two, considering their circumstances.
Cid's religious parents denied him the right to have a girlfriend, and I was caught in the middle of the starcrossed lover fiasco. But this isnt the strangest part of it. They fought to be together for over a month or longer, Cid wanting to take Dawn as his grad date. Cid's stepmother called Dawn's house using the good ol' three way call attack technique through Cid's dad to inform her that she would not be going to grad with Cid, who would not be going to the prom with her or at all. BEFORE this, however, Dawn had been telling me that she wasn't thinking that trying to go out with Cid through all this hardship was worth it, saying that it was too difficult and she wasn't even sure she liked him all that much. But she wouldn't tell him that, because she didnt want to hurt him. Obviously she didnt think that the rift she was forming between him and his parents was hurting him.
So after the three way call attack, Dawn goes to school and tells everyone of what had happened. Cid knows about it too, and is crestfallen but determined. He formulates a plan with his siblings to get to grad to dance with his love. Well, Dawn decides to go to grad with another of my friends, Kyle. Cid knows about this, but I decide to tell him again anyway just so he knows not to get his hopes up.
Well, shortly thereafter Cid sends a note to Dawn saying that they should just stay friends, and maybe after he can move out of his parents house they can see if a relationship would work for them. A day or two after this my loving husband and I throw a party.
At this party Kyle and Dawn hook up.They spend most of the night making out on the floor. Good for them! No one else there cares, we just stay up until 4 am acting like jerks and making fun of eachother ignoring them completely. Like I said, we all probably would have forgot about it except for the fiasco afterward.
Kyle doesnt like my loving husband Gwyd, and we all knew that. Amazingly they had been getting along recently, their open hostility to eachother descending to a mildly cruel rivalry. The could stand to be in the same room. Kyle had been laughing and ejoying himself probably more than anyone else that night, from my point of view anyway. In the morning, however things didnt go his way and he acted really childish. It was suggested we go to the arcade and play games, which he was all gung-ho about, much more than I was for sure. We stayed there for about two hours, and he didnt say a word to Dawn the whole time. Then I got hungry, as did Dawn, so we all agreed to go out for lunch. All but Kyle, who didnt want to and after that acted really childish and even more grumpy than usual.
When we returned to Gwyd's place, Kyle said he was leaving, grabbed his things and was gone in moments. It seemed really rude to me. But that wasnt all... Dawn cornered me and asked me to talk to Kyle for her about the things that had happened between them the night before so she could sort it out in her mind. She couldnt understand what it all meant, and she had "never thought about him in that kind of way" saying it "took her by surprise" not just his actions, but her own. She had been acting rather slutty all evening, we all knew they would hook up.
I was kind of aggrivated that she would put me between her and Kyle the way I was put between her and Cid. I was upset with the way Kyle acted in ignoring her, and I was upset with Dawn for just dropping Cid like that so quickly. I know them all rather well, and Dawn just doesnt seem like the type of person that is meant for someone like Kyle, and if it does happen it will just seem... wrong. I dont know any other way to explain it.
The moral of my story is: Don't let your friends put you between them and their sordid affairs, let them stand on their own. It sucks watching people you care about break eachothers hearts, this activity is best left to cupid and psychiatrists, not teenage girls who dont really want to give a damn in the first place.
