well I'm stupid, because I just was recently told the mr. b did not quit but was fired. it was because certain individuals complained about racial remarks said by mr. b. i agree that the remarks were not something a teacher should be saying in such a carefree way but i do not believe he was reported for the soul reason of offending somebody. i have been told that he was also stated "racist" by previous classes that he has taught. there are only a few problems with that statement. 1. is that a person who is racist shows strong feelings of dislike towards an individual or group of individuals based on race and his statement which was described as "racist" could also be taken as a friendly joke and 2. if students had an issue with him being racist in the past then why would they not have reported it? the answer is simple: because the liked him as a teacher. our class hates him and therefore cannot take a small joke as a joke but as an offensive remark. this is based on relationship the more you like a person the more what they say is a joke but the more you dislike them the more something meant to be funny, is not funny to you. a situation such as this has been blown out of purportion just because of people's selfishness.

and i just wanna know, how is a couple racist jokes a bigger deal than hearing "SAN!!" or "terrorist" everyday for a year? it's because your friends with these people that you won't get mad but if you thought of them like you thought of mr. b then you would complain to someone wouldn't you?

there are probably racist teachers out there but a real racist cannot compare to the accusations of racism in the case of mr. b. he's still too young to retire but because of our selfish acts we failed to think about the situation that mr. b will be in. we could not find it in our hearts to let it go and forgive him before reporting him and now we have left a good person without a job and probably no place to get a new one. that will be in his records and he will probably never get another teaching job. and there are a lot of people in our class who don't really care. and to those people who really don't care, i no longer will have any sympathy for you or your ******** problems because you don't deserve compassion when you can't give compassion in return.
